Video Game Deals

So Target is running a promotion where you can get ANY game for 25% off as long as you buy a preorder ticket for another game for $1. Of course, you're under NO obligation to honor the preorder, so you basically can get stuff for 25% off. This worked in 1 guy's favor who got the complete band kit for RB 4 for 25% off by utilizing this deal.

Also, you can get the Destiny Taken King bundle for $399.99 with a $50 Target Gift Card. You know for something that claims to be a "Limited Edition" retailers seem damn anxious to get this thing out the door. Although it looks like it worked because it's not available online and not in any of my local stores, so YMMV.

Ubisoft is doing it wrong. The PC download version of Far Cry 4 is $5 more than the physical version for consoles. Don't they know that us PC gamers expect rock bottom pricing? Not only that but I bought my PC version as a download for $19.99 from Amazon about 8 months ago. I have seen it for sale at that price many times so I don't recommend PC gamers picking it up in this sale.

Yeah I noticed that too after I posted. Still, the other games are cheap and the FC4 DLC is only discounted for PC users, so I guess they got that going for them.

Another sign that the final episode for Tales from the Borderlands will be here soon. I'll probably grab Back to the Future.
Not necessarily. Don't forget that Minecraft: Story Mode is coming out next week.

One thing I noticed was that the Wallace and Gromit game from TellTale isn't in the bundle. Upon further review I saw that the game has actually been pulled off the market due to the license agreement ending.

Does make you wonder if this could happen to other licensed games from them.

Hopefully you have better luck with BTTF than I did. I couldn't get my Steam version to work for whatever reason. Luckily I had the DRM free version as well (Got it through a bundle.)

I didn't realize the Minecraft game was so close. That is the first Tell Tale game since TWD that I have zero interest in. That probably is what the sale is meant to promote.

It kind of irks me that they have their new series starting and they haven't finished Game of Thrones or Borderlands yet. I mean the first Borderlands episode came out almost a year ago. These slow releases are ridiculous and I'm done buying their games until episode 4 or 5 is available.

Yeah I normally wait until Episode 4 as well. I broke the rule with TFTB because I was in the mood for a TT game and it was 50% off at the time. And I won't be purchasing GoT until the final episode is released, and it'll likely come up during the Steam Holiday sale. I recently cashed in some credit card points to get a $50 Steam card in preparation for the sale.

I don't understand why these licensing agreements aren't made indefinitely... for the life of the game on a particular device. I can understand porting to a new platform or media format would require re-licensing. But I shouldn't have to worry if I don't have all my Telltale games downloaded and installed on my HDD, I may lose access at some point. When I saw "Wallace and Gromit," I was afraid it was the same universe as Sam & Max (I own two of those series but have yet to play them), since they both involve talking dogs and other animals (I really don't know the two properties that well--obviously).
