Probably the most appealing part of the sale is the discount on Battlefield games and DLC. For example you can get the BF 4 Premium Edition for $20.

Madden 16 is Amazon's deal of the day at $39.99 on all platforms. $20 off before the first NFL regular season game has been played isn't too bad. I like Madden but I know I won't have time to play it with everything else coming out.

Yeah, It's kind of weird that they are still using his name even though he is not relevant to the current NFL or the current games. I guess Madden has enough name recognition that even non-gamers know that is the NFL football game and the marketing department isn't going to let that die.

Yeah it's all about name recognition at this point. Hell the title is 25+ years old, and they dropped "John" from the title in 1994.

I Think Madden is still an advisor to the NFL, saw a piece last year on a pre-game or on 60 minutes sports...

Changing the name of the Madden NFL game franchise would be like changing the name of the Lombardi trophy. In fact I'm sure more people can tell you who the NFL video game is named after than who the Super Bowl trophy is named for.

Steam has a few deals going on this weekend.

You can play the Saint's Row franchise free for the weekend. You can also get good deals on buying all the games. Saint's Row IV: Game of the Century Edition is $5.99 and Saints Row 3 is $2.99. Both of them are great games.

Actually if you really want Saints Row 3, don't get the one on Steam. It has none of the DLC and the "The Total Package" version is $10. Instead get the one off of Humble Bundle Store for $5.

Also for some reason the big collection of all the games is INSANELY overpriced. Honestly though you're better off just getting 3 and 4 because the PC port of 2 is god awful.

Another game you left out is Call of Juarez: Gunslinger. You can be forgiven for not thinking of such a game but it has an overwhelmingly positive rating, and lot of praise coming from people I actually respect, so it may be worth a look.It's only $3.75 (75% off)

My favorite is that the PS4 Godzilla game is already $20. That's what it should have cost it in the first place. Apparently now the MSRP is $40, and the game has only been out for TWO months. My thoughts here, and Yahtzee's great review here:

There are lots of good deals for less than $20 here. I really want to play Dying Light but I haven't seen a single good sale on PC. This is one of those rare games where the price point just holds even though it's been out a while. GTA V would also fit into this category.

Dying Light's prices are starting to creep down on console but I was really holding out for PC. $17.99 is would be tempting if Taken King didn't come out today. Since I'll be waiting to play anyways I may as well wait for a better deal on my preferred platform.

If you still have the CD with the serial # then you can actually contact EA and they should give you a new copy via Origin. This holds true for all their older games IIRC. I guess now it doesn't matter since the game is free but if you have older EA games with keys that are now on Origin definitely contact them. As bad as EA is perceived to be, their Origin support is actually pretty giving and nice.
