Video Game Deals

Amazon is doing a video game sale as part of their countdown to Black Friday sale. There is nothing I really have to have here but some of the prices are decent. It looks like this sale is mostly limited to 360/PS3 games.

Thanks! Just grabbed "Sing It! High School Musical 3: Senior Year" for $4. —NOT!

Actually, I grabbed Heavy Rain and LA Noire (2 games I never got around to) this weekend on eBay to deepen my PS3 backlog before moving on to the next gen. I usually don't buy used, but for much older games, it seems silly to spend $20 on new when used is less than $10 (I paid $7.50 for LA Noire shipped). I would actually prefer digital, if it was on sale, but Sony never added Heavy Rain to the PSN and LA Noire might be too old of a game to make to the PS Plus IGC (of course now that I've said that  ;) )

Groupon of all places is selling CoD: Ghosts for $40 for each console (Sorry PC gamers)

Best Buy also has GTA V on sale for $33.99 (the link is for PS3 but 360 is also eligible). Also Amazon matched the deal

When I clicked on the link for the Amazon GTA V deal, I couldn't help notice there were exactly 666 5-star ratings for that game.

Soul Sacrifice is now free on PS3/Vita for PS+ members. It's downloading on my Vita right now.

I'm buying Game of Thrones for $4.99 as part of this week's big PSN sale. I know it's not a very polished game and the combat system and graphics aren't top notch, but for five bucks I figure I can't go wrong, as I love the TV show and will probably buy the 5-book boxed set of Song of Fire and Ice this holiday season.

I'm getting fed up with all the easily missable quests and tedious back-tracking in Dragon's Dogma (free this month for Plus members), so I'm ready to move on to something else.

And, oh yeah, I'll be downloading Soul Sacrifice today as well. :D

The Steam Autumn sale has officially begun. I am on video game overload right now.

Just picked up Gone Home for $4.99. That's the price I've been waiting for on that game. Now I want State of Decay for that price and maybe a good deal on Lego Marvel.

So what's with the upside down part at the bottom that says Spring Sale? If you click where it says featured items down there it flips everything over so it says Spring Sale right side up at the top and everything else is upside down. It's very strange and I can't help but think there is some kind of Easter egg or secret deals I'm missing out on. I've clicked on just about everything and I can't figure it out.

Origin is having some sales too, but the biggest thing is that you can get $10 off (what appears to be) ANY game that's $29.99 or more. Follow the instructions posted here from the good people at Cheap Ass Gamer. Thanks to them I got Battlefield 4 for $20. That was too good of a deal for me to turn down..

Great deal. I'm tempted to pick this up for PC even though I already have it on PS4.

Just pulled the trigger on the components for a gaming system. Looking forward to putting it together (it'll be my first build from scratch), and then finally playing the games I bought during the Steam summer sale.

Welcome to the club. What parts did you go with?

I went a little crazy. The motherboard in particular is above and beyond what I need, but it gives me a lot of room to tinker with it in years to come. And with this setup, I should be able to just add a second GPU and be good for years of gaming.

Intel i7-4770K
ASUS Maximus Extreme
Sapphire Vapor X Radeon 7970
256 GB SSD
4TB HDD
32 GB corsair vengeance 1866 MZ (15000 PC 3) RAM
Corsair HX 1050 power supply
Full Tower Case
Water Cooling for the CPU
Extra Fans
