TNA Impact, PPV's discussion

TNA Impact Wrestling rating: Did TNA rebound from the lowest rating of 2012?
Thursday's TNA Impact Wrestling television show drew a 1.04 rating, up from the 0.993 rating the show drew last week. Impact averaged 1.4 million fans compared to the 1.3 million average for last week.Powell's POV: The ratings and viewership increase was minimal this week, which his not good news considering that last week's show was the lowest rated of 2012. TNA desperately needs to develop some momentum on Thursday nights. I actually enjoyed last week's television show more than last night's offering.

TNA News: Who is Joseph Parks? (spoiler)
The Joseph Parks character that debuted on Impact Wrestling on Thursday night was actually Abyss (a/k/a Chris Parks).Powell's POV: As someone who didn't think I could stomach the Abyss character again, I like this twist. The only problem I see at this point is that he looked like an overweight regular guy rather than a menacing monster, but I am curious to see where they go with it.

TNA Video: 3/10 Ring Ka King - Jeff Jarrett's crew confronted by Matt Morgan and company
The March 10 edition of TNA offshoot Ring Ka King is available for online viewing at Youtube.com/user/DTFColorsVideos?feature=watch.
Powell's POV: The final segment of the show is a hilarious coronation type segment with new champion Brutus Magnus, plus Jeff Jarrett, Sonjay Dutt in an outfit that has to be seen to be believed, Scott Steiner, and Abyss. lmaooooo chris masters as the american adonis and rofllllll sonjay dutts costume :D lol :) Ring Ka King [Episode 13] 720p - 10th March 2012 Video Watch Online HD - Part1 Ring Ka King [Episode 13] 720p - 10th March 2012 Video Watch Online HD - Part2 Ring Ka King [Episode 13] 720p - 10th March 2012 Video Watch Online HD - Part2 - YouTube Ring Ka King [Episode 13] 720p - 10th March 2012 Video Watch Online HD - Part3 TNA Sacrifice Date and Location Revealed, Jeff Jarrett on Spring Breakers

Eric Bischoff Has Harsh Words To Say About Jeremy Borash
In what is either a work or a shoot, TNA's Eric Bischoff posted the following on his Facebook page:"Just had a beer here in Nashville. Bartender asked me I worked for the boss 'Jeremy Borash.' When I asked 'WTF' that was supposed to mean, I was told emphatically that Jeremy has represented himself as an 'owner' of TNA. Jeremy is a low rent bit player who should be fortunate he has a job."

Would James Compete For A Men’s Belt?
– Mickie James commented on her official website whether she aspires to win the X Division or World Heavyweight Championship one day. Though she would consider it an honor to compete for either title, it is not among her goals because it is not realistic.“Although I do believe I have achieved most of my goals in the wide world of wrestling I don’t feel I’ve achieved them all. The Knockouts Tag Team Championships would be an amazing addition to my list of Championships. However, I am a realist in the sense that I live in a man’s world. Although it would be an honor to compete for either the X-Division or Heavyweight Championship I don’t have it among my goals,” James says.“I honestly feel that a woman will probably never win the Heavyweight Championship unless it’s some sort of gimmick or fluke. I would never want to win any championship under those circumstances. Or unless of course the woman is perceived capable of competing against a man as Chyna was in her heyday. Which could possibly happen with someone like Kharma now. Or even Beth Phoenix when she first debuted. But the fact is I am a woman… I love being a woman and embrace every part of it. I’m not as strong as a man no matter how good I am.”
Heat On Bischoff, Sorensen Update, Pierzynski’s Wrestling Future
- After Eric Bischoff totally buried TNA announcer Jeremy Borash on Twitter this week, just about everyone in TNA is taking Borash’s side. The general feeling is that Bischoff’s comments were beyond unprofessional and anybody else with less power than Bischoff would have been in very hot water trashing a fellow employee like that.PWInsider.com is reporting that the fallout from Eric Bischoff's recent comments towards Jeremy Borash has resulted in backstage heat on Bischoff, as mostly everyone in TNA is taking Borash's side on this one.The feeling is that Bischoff's comments were largely unprofessional, and if it was anyone else in the company who had made them, specifically anyone with less power than Bischoff, then he or she would be in very hot water for publicly burying a fellow employee as Bischoff did.
?Eric Bischoff Buries Jeremy Borash: “Lucky To Have A Job”
- Jesse Sorenson posted the following update on Twitter this week regarding his medical condition:“After looking over my X-rays and MRI today, (the doctor) says my healing process couldn’t be going any better. Prayer and action cure fear.”
- During a recent interview, baseball player A.J. Pierzynski (who has been involved in wrestling with TNA in the past) spoke about a possible return to wrestling. Pierzynski stated that Chicago White Sox conditioning coach Dale Torborg (formerly the “Kiss Demon” in WCW) keeps trying to get him back into wrestling, saying, “Demon keeps trying to suck me back in. We’ll see. We’ll see.”Torborg added, “A.J. is better suited as a manager. He likes talking trash and then watching me get hit with a chair.”
Former ECW star C.W. Anderson recalls working with Arn Anderson in WWE and what he learned from him
Mar 14, 2012 - 11:25 AM

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ECW original and MLW Tag Team Champion CW Anderson joined Mister Saint Laurent on MLW Radio, the official podcast of Major League Wrestling.

CW spoke about things he learned from Arn Anderson during his time with WWE. "When I was at WWE, Arn kind of took me under his wing as far as working with me in the ring and looking out for me as best he could," Anderson said. "I have nothing but good things to say about that man.

"For an hour and a half to two hours, he worked with me, literally beating up Kid Kash. Showing me intense things he used to do as far being an Anderson, being more vicious, being that clever heel. And guys would get in the ring to try to work out, guys that had been there forever and he would tell them to get the hell out, I'm working with CW."

Also announced on the MLW Radio podcast is that there will be a special booker show in the coming weeks featuring AAA booker and former WCW/TNA superstar lucha legend Konnan along with MLW President and former WWE creative executive Court Bauer. They'll be talking booking, the biz, wrestling drama and more. Just 2 dudes talking about any and everything in the biz.

Plans for TNA Lockdown
- TNA had some interest in NFL star Brandon Jacobs, who was cut by the New York Giants, facing Bully Ray at April’s Lockdown pay-per-view in Nashville.Confirmed for Lockdown is Bobby Roode vs. James Storm for the TNA World Heavyweight Title and in the works is Hulk Hogan & Garett Bischoff vs. Ric Flair & Eric Bischoff. Flair would lead that team at last word because Hogan is more comfortable working with Flair than a guy like Gunner.

RVD-TNA UPDATE
The word within TNA is that Rob Van Dam will be back in their storylines shortly. I haven't heard he's in Orlando today yet but it's expected he'll be back on TV shortly.
Hopefully, the return will come with the company using him in a more prominent position as I can't remember a time period (and I am going back to 1996 here) where he had been booked worse and meant less than he had been over the last year in TNA.
LATEST TNA CELEBRITY TIE-IN
Josh Lewis, who hosts "Repo Games" for SpikeTV is scheduled for this week's Impact tapings.

After Victory Road, Angle Health Update, Brooke Gets Physical
- After Sunday’s TNA Victory Road pay-per-view went off the air, the crowd chanted “Fire Bobby” as Bobby Roode continued to stand over Dixie Carter and Sting. Agents D-Lo Brown, Al Snow and Pat Kenney finally came down to help Dixie.
- Hulk Hogan’s daughter Brooke was at ringside for Victory Road and got involved during the TV title match between Robbie E. and Devon. At one point in the match, Robbie E. had a steel chair in his hands, but Brooke took it away from him.
- TNA was pushing Twitter at Victory Road more than usual, with Gail Kim and Devon trending worldwide during the show.
- Kurt Angle recently spoke to GoErie.com that about his chances of making it to the Olympics, which he admits are “slim to none.” Angle, who is currently nursing a rib injury, had this to say about his health:“I’ve beaten myself up a lot. When I came back and started working out for the Olympics this time, I kept getting hurt. I popped a patellar tendon, then I popped an Achilles, then I blew out my hamstring. I went to my doctor and said, ‘What’s going on? I’m a machine, I don’t get hurt.’He said you’re over 40, things are gonna happen to you unless you train. So I spent four months training just to get ready to get back on the mat.”
Ex-Employees Discuss Randy Savage’s Run – Was Drunk Backstage
Four new chapters from former Barbaric Wrestling Radio host Brett Buchanan’s The Genesis of TNA free e-book have been released on BarbaricWrestling.com and TNAbook.net. The new chapters are about Randy Savage’s infamous brief TNA run, Dusty Rhodes, Monty Brown, and Chris Candido’s death. You can find all 14 chapters that have been released thus far simply by entering ‘The Genesis of TNA’ section on BarbaricWrestling.com. New chapters are released every Monday, and there are still 12 to go. Also check out some free shoot interviews with many wrestlers and MMA fighters including Rob Van Dam, Samoa Joe, Rampage Jackson, Jay Lethal, and many more to come on Barbaric Wrestling Radio’s YouTube at BWRofficial's Channel - YouTube. Below is an excerpt from The Genesis of TNA ‘Chapter 11: Randy Savage, DDP, Nash & Hall’ about Randy Savage’s late 2004 TNA stint, which included his final match ever at Turning Point 2004.

Kevin Nash and Scott Hall were not the only talent to debut at Victory Road, the show closed with the debut of “Macho Man” Randy Savage. Savage wound up only staying in TNA for one month but he made quite the impression backstage. Savage first quit the day after he debuted only to return the next week; he was also rumored to have turned down a fight with Hulk Hogan backstage at Victory Road and hired a bodyguard after the incident. At Turning Point 2004 Savage was set to team up with Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles against the Kings of Wrestling, but the Kings kidnapped him before the match. Savage eventually ran out at the tail end of the match in a long sleeve shirt looking out of shape, he threw some weak punches and put Jeff Jarrett in a headlock before falling down on him and pinning him.

RUDY CHARLES: It was pretty cool to have [Randy Savage] there. My understanding was he wanted to win the title, coming in. I don’t know the whole story behind it, but something happened and he was there one month and gone the next. So I’m not exactly sure what happened, whether it was over the title thing or not. At least it gave TNA video clips to use of the Macho Man.

SONJAY DUTT: It was cool being in the ring with Savage and meeting him and what not and stuff like that. I don’t know what he did, was he in there for more than a week for something? [Turning Point] is where he won with a punch to the face, it was unbelievable awesome stuff.

SCOTT HUDSON: Randy is exactly like he is on camera. That was the only time I had a chance to work with him, but I know that what you see on camera, he’s not talking about that same sort of stuff but he’s wound that tightly. He’s very much a perfectionist guy, you don’t mess around. He wants to know what you’re going to say, how you’re going to say it, what word is your cue out and all of that.

BILL BEHRENS: First of all Randy is extremely limited and he drank all day. The first time I had to send him to the ring I literally had to help him up the ramp, he just had to be seen at the end of the show, that’s all we needed. I’m trying to get a cue from the truck when because I know he’s not going to get out there easily. I literally finally just called the cue myself because I knew it was going to take him awhile because once he was at the top of the ramp I couldn’t walk him out. I had to hope he could get out there himself. He did that spot then he did an in ring spot where he couldn’t hit his own moves and he couldn’t throw a punch bless his heart. Then after that he was supposed to do another spot an actual match, and he went to Jerry Jarrett and said I won’t do it unless I win the title. Jerry Jarrett talked to him and talked to him and then left the meeting came to me and said: this man is insane. That pretty much was the end of Randy’s run
.
PETEY WILLIAMS: I don’t think [Savage] did much for the company honestly; literally he was there for like a PPV and maybe two TV shows. I think he was there for honestly a month, I mean he didn’t do much. I remember Christopher Daniels asked him he’s like, Mr. Macho Man or whatever you called him, Mr. Savage, we have a match and I’m going to do a top rope elbow, I just wanted to make sure that’s okay with you. He’s like brother more power to you because I can’t do it anymore. I mean Macho Man’s great, just hearing him talk and stuff like that, I’m like this is what this guy is like in real life.

BILL BEHRENS: I only had to deal with him once he got to the go area and that was enough of a challenge. The rest of the time he would, Bruno and Tilly who eventually joined the company had some kind of hookup where they used to bring a big trailer gimmick. The stars, particularly the most dysfunctional stars, would go in that and pretty much just drink. Randy was one of the guys that did that, so his run was bad all the way around. It made it clear that there wasn’t going to be a good final run that Randy Savage would have in wrestling.
