The Road to SuperBowl XLIV: The Official 2010 NFL Playoffs Thread

Now...no....after 15 games....I would have taken JaMarcus in a heart beat. And that is what I comparing it to....after their 1st 15 starts.

And if we include what Sanchez did in the playoffs, say goodnight to any comparison. That's also part of his rookie season. ;)

Russell has never give anyone any indication that he could even make the playoffs, let alone come up big in them.

it's ok i respect salsa's opinion but so far russell has been a bust especially in the attitude department. at the moment he cant fill the role of a leader as he should being the qb. sanchez in his rookie season has proven to be much more of a leader and a positive influence for the team than fat neck (russell) ever has. sanchez has also proven to be more accurate with his passes than russell has in his time with the raiders. i understand he has less salsa but you have said yourself that he can be extremely inaccurate at times. when your team plays better with their backup there is definitely something wrong. and they did play much better with gradkowski or whatever his name is :D

You can give that kid all the "attitude" in the world, but it isn't going to change the fact that he can't hit water from a boat, let alone a WR with a football.;)

That had to do ALOT with the team in Green and the team in silver and black. The Jets had a better all around team did need Sanchez to be a savior.

Still, when you factor the playoffs in, you can no longer compare the rookie season of Russell to the rookie season of Sanchez. Sanchez played better in the playoffs than the regular season...when it counted most. ;)

1st 15 games of the season....it hit it alot better than Sanchez did. The ONLY difference was, Raiders...as a team...sucked. The Jets, as a TEAM didn't.

Sounds like big ol' Jamarcus should have called it quits afer his first 15 games, when he was riding so high. It was all downhill from there. Now he sucks even more than the Raiders do!

Even Ryan Leaf says Jamarcus sucks!

What part of the Jets had a much better team do you not understand? IF you would have put Brady under center in Oakland, he would have done terrible or much worse....been decapitated. IT was clear when Gradkowski started and lasted all of what? 3 games...OUT for the season. Frye was running for his dear life. And BARELY survived the season.

The Jets were a BETTER all around team than the Raiders. Hell, the 38-0 ass whipping they gave the Raiders proved it.

Sanchez's play did not lead them into the playoffs....being the #1 ranked defense and #1 ranked running game did. You do not do that with sh!tty players....

You make it sound like if the Jets had Jamarcus Russell at QB this season instead of Sanchez, they still would have made it to the AFC championship game. Surely you don't honestly believe that. :yikes

That's a good one. Yes, the Jets were a better team than the Raiders...and one part of that (of many parts) is that Sanchez played a lot better than Russell. Even Glabowski played a lot better than Russell (and for the same team ;)), and he may not be in the league very long either.

This is quite a reach, even for you.

Sandra

That 80-yard TD pass from Sanchez to Edwards- you put Russell in that situation, he'd overshoot him.

You like Sanchez, do you?

Sanchez looks like he'll be a pretty good QB, he's shown much more to prove that point than any other. Dude has got to learn to play in cold weather if he's going to have a chance to live up to the Sanchise hype though.

And yeah, that 40 or so yard pass to Braylon would have landed out of bounds if it were thrown by JaMarcus.

When the Jets traded up to draft him, I thought to myself, "Draft steal!"

Yeah, I like the kid a lot too...........rookie QB takes his team all the way to the AFCCG................nice story!!! :) :up

But then............. you have brainiacs like this during yesterday's game  :

Sanchez dodged a couple of bullets.

I am convinced that perhaps the football gods want them to win- though I will never understand why this team is so deserving of the fortunate breaks they've gotten this postseason.

..............or this............

Sanchez living dangerously.

This is not a QB I want to see in the Super Bowl.

I'm so glad you're not like that towards a young QB that almost led his team to a SB, Sabres! :up :D

Here is a better test...would the Raiders trade Jamarcus Russell to the Jets for Mark Sanchez even up? ;)

Or, even funnier, would the Jets trade Sanchez to the Raiders right now for Jamarcus Russell?

Sandra

I mentioned this many pages back that I would take Sanchez over Russell in a hearbeat.

The two players are not even CLOSE.

Sorry Salsa, but ya gotta take the Raider blinders off.

Sandra,
Congrats to your Jets on a GREAT season, if all goes well, you'll have more to cheer about next year.

Credit where it's due. The Saints' defense created those fumbles. That's how they roll. They give up big yards, but they always create turnovers to compensate.

Well, except for the handoff fiasco. :) But Brees had one of those too.

Oh I'll absolutely give the Saints D credit .... however the D* didn't cause all of them, some were self inflicted.

Vikes could have had 9 turnovers in all.
