The Blacklist

Well after re-watching many episodes I've concluded the following:

I'm now 100% sure that the real Red died the night of the fire, when little Masha (a.k.a. Liz) shot and killed the real Reddington who was also Lizzie's biological father.

And the bones in the suitcase/bag are real Red's remains.

And I now believe that the Red we've seen since Episode 1 is (drumroll) actually Katerina.

I don't like that idea, not at all, but that's my conclusion, however I feel that writers messed up by indicating since Ep1 this Red has Reddington's fingerprints, in addition to some other "facts" that don't seem to fit.

I don't believe Katerina had any siblings based on that drawing we were shown when Red went thru little Katerina's toys and things.

I'm not particularly convinced that the writers provided sufficient "facts" at least IMO for a twin brother or any brother for Red.

Now I think I missread Bokenkamp, when he was asked about the Rederina theory, I think his reaction which was kinda "What? somebody would have to walk me through it", was to disqualify it and redirect attention to the other theories, which he called logical or something to that effect.

Based on his last comments, I believe that:

The finale will only reveal that the bones belong to the real Red.

And I think Bokenkamp has planned to leave the "So then who is this person who's been impersonating Red'" as the cliff-hanger for a Season 6. He said something like "the truth revealed on the finale will blow up the show, and will completely change the way we will move things going forward"

At this point I wouldn't bet my bottom dollar on another season. Not that I don't want one, But I wouldn't like to entertain high hopes and then receive bad news later on.

Guess We'll have to wait and see.......

I really enjoyed last night's episode, lots of action and animals LOL.

I thought the scene with Red threatening to put a bullet in the head of a corpse, was great.

I had never seen such a dramatic scene when threatening to put a bullet in the head of a corpse carries more convincing power than the threat to put the bullet in the head of a living person. :D

Below I've included part of an article and word by JB, about how he is totally betting on a season 6 renewal.

If for whatever reason, there is no such renewal. then the show would leave us without the answer to the question that will be raised in this season 5 finale.

The Blacklist is hurtling towards its Season 5 finale with a ferocious twist that will make Season 6 an absolute must. That's right, the series' creator Jon Bokenkamp is taking a "don't blink" approach to the events of its impending season closer. The dramatic thriller has yet to be renewed by NBC for a sixth season, but it is not impacting the way Bokenkamp is approaching the season finale. Despite the uncertain backdrop, Bokenkamp has assured fans that he did not conceive two different endings for the Season 5 finale, teasing:

Our cliffhanger at the end of the season is a cliffhanger. It is a big answer and it is a big question that is gonna push us forward. We have no choice but to write the story that we're telling, and I'm optimistic and hopeful that we'll come back. If not, maybe I'll go do the finale as puppet theater at a community theater somewhere. But there's no version of this where we say, 'Well, here's maybe our series finale.' We're not in that business.

Megan Boone says the finale will have the biggest reveal we've ever had.

You'll look back at the entire series with new eyes.

It’s a huge turn in the mythology and at the heart of the biggest questions that have existed since the pilot. Fans will be stunned.
