Obtaining new software upgrades

I have a 301 and 811 receiver in basement, and I do not keep them hooked up to phone line. If I hook them up to phone line, any idea how long I may have to wait to get the most recent software upgrades? Thanks.

No software updates come over the phone line anyway, so it doesn't matter - they ALL come over the dish.

Thanks. The installer said I could be fined by Dish if I don't keep phone lines hooked up, is that true? I never saw that in my manuals.

Yea, they'll throw you in the pokey if you DON'T... NOT!

Seriously, the ONLY thing you loose by not doing the phone lines is remote ordering of PPV's & some interactive features. And, if you would have happened to have either a 322 or 522 dual-tuner unit, (which you don't) they will charge an add-on receiver fee ($5) if you don't hook them up.
