So... how do the Raiders of 2010 stack up?

Well, their most significant move of the off season has been to re-sign Janikowski... and trading for Kameron Wimbley. Al is saving money for his next genius first round pick I think. They just re-signed DE Chris Cooper who is more famous for testing positive for HGH in the Balco case than for anything he's done on the football field, partially because he's also been out of football for 2 years.

There's little/no reason to be hopeful in Oakland.

Like ALL teams, their health depends on everything. BUT UNLIKE most teams, they cannot afford ANY injures. They have the same amout of injuries as last year....another 5 or 6 win season. I also have not season the new schedule. SO IF last year is the same or maybe a little less tougher schedule, they have no reason to not win 8 or 9 games.

Plenty of hope. ONE, the coaching staff relatively stable for a change. TWO, everyone is healthy so far. THREE, what I consider our starting QB, Gradkowski, is healthy. and FOUR, the inexperience WR corp has one more year under their belt as well as knowing the offense.

We ended the season on a decent to positive note. There is plenty to look forward to. I am wondering since when did you HAVE to make a move immediately to think you are going to have a positive season....?!

Home Away
Indianapolis Pittsburgh
Houston Tennessee
Miami Jacksonville
St. Louis Arizona
Seattle San Francisco
Denver Denver
Kansas City Kansas City
San Diego San Diego

I think the Raiders win 6, tops

With ALL things that I considered, I see it differently. And with a little luck, I can't see and 8-8 or 9-7 season in a very weak AFC West.

I figured 6-7 wins.
Salsa, your counting on splitting in the division, if that happens your in good shape, if not they will have less than the 7 I mentioned.
I will be surprised if you beat the Dolphins, but at this point anything is possible.

Why not, if anything, the AFC west got WEAKER...not stronger. Denver was the 1st have fluke everyone thought they were, KC, you they were in alot of close games, but they STILL lost them. San Diego, will likely win 10 games, but they will not be some kind of powerhouse. This division is going to be like two years ago where 9-7 or even an 8-8 record will win it.

The Dolphins, showed their true colors last year.....the year before, they went 11-5 with an easier schedule. Last year, they played a tougher schedule, 7-9...2 wins more than the Raiders and no where near as many injuries.

So which Dolphins show up this year ?
The 11 win team or the 7 win one ?

I still think that SD is still the class of the division.

So their offense sucks, but they are going to win 8-9 games?

I don't see why not. Like I said, IF they do not have any major injuries, this team will win 8 and possibly 9 games. AND like I said, unlike MOST team, they do not have the depth nor the horses in the skilled positions to sustain a major inury.

OH, I do not deny they are the best team in the WEST. But they will not win not more than 10 games. They have pulled BACK to pack, while other teams have gotten better.

They have a pretty good defense.

Huh?

They ranked 26th in yards allowed and 23rd in points scored against.

it mostly depends on if they get a big WR and the play at the QB position.chad needs to improve on his decision making this season. they also need to get away from the wild cat

All will be OK, Raiders are rumored to be working on getting Jason Campbell now.

GOD NO. That guy is soft. IF we get another QB, he has to be quick on his feet(because he might be running for his life, ALOT! LOL!) and sturdy(when the defense finally catches up to him after all his running).
