Is there a reason they don't hire a "real" GM? Is Davis that big of an egomaniac?

YES!! He is living on his past accomplishments......

20 years ago, there was probably no smarter football man.....20 years ago.

Right now, he is in his "you can take my team from cold dead hands" mode. And as sad as this may sound....ALL Raiders fans are somewhat looking forward to that....

Lions fans have the same problem, waiting for the team owner to sell ..... unfortunately there are other Fords that are in line to ruin the Lions for years to come.

Fortunately for you Raiders fans, Davis doesn't hand the reigns down to the next Davis in line. (at least I haven't heard that yet.)

I think the Genius tag left a lot sooner than that.
Just because they won in in that period doesn't mean he was a genius then.

Verizon outbid them, think I saw a $780m over 4 years figure.

Edit: Looks like Sprint has a new app that isn't quite the same, but will provide some of that functionality?

it's different now. it still works in the manner i was using it for which was for automatic NFL news updates through text but we lost NFL Network on sprint

The complicated riddle that is the NFL regular-season schedule has not been solved yet, and all we know for sure at this point is it will be out before the NFL draft begins next Thursday night in New York City.

League schedule-makers continue to work on the 256-game slate, and a league spokesman confirms to SI.com that the NFL now hopes to announce it by "later this week or early next week."

The NFL Network will televise a schedule release show in primetime on the day the league rolls out its schedule and that programming has yet to be nailed down. The league is likely to announce the timing of that program a day or two in advance in order to publicize the show.
