NFL preseason 2010-2011 Official discussion thread!

He was previously hyped up by handlers as being in great shape, then tried to avoid that reporter when he didnt even stop his car to answer questions (even while answering them) and it was previously reported he was 271.

Looks like perhaps there was an attempt to win over some of the sceptics that this season will be any different than the last. Instead the Raiders are going to give him another go and wait until there is a salary cap to penalize them for his release rather than part ways now.

The OWNER wants to give him another shot....NOT the coaching staff in general. This is the Grim Reaper's baby....everyone else want's to get rid of him.

On a personal note, his weight means nothing to me. YES, I know his physical health and his improvement go hand and hand, but if he stays the same size and throws the ball better and defenses better....his weight don't mean crap to me.

It's just another example of how this team isn't one, and weight is very significant to a quarterback's performance. Impacts overall agility which is a lot more than rolling out or running with the ball.

His weight is an example of him just not getting it, or continuing to lack the work ethic to be the leader of a franchise. He's made his money, now she's just doing whatever he needs to to get by. In the end this will be worse than the failure of Ryan Leaf, because of the number of seasons he is responsible for scuttling.

Also as for McNabb, it appears that they'd love to have Namdi for him, but his contract is awful unless you're Namdi. He's only got 1 year left and is set to make $16mil including a huge roster bonus next month. Then his contract says that he will either be paid the top 5 in his position next year or he is to be allowed to test the free agency market (so basically he can't be franchised).

So McNabb going to Oakland?
They might become a playoff team because the only thing that team really needed was a QB, and maybe a better head coach..

You don't have anything if you dont have coaching, this is especially true if the owner is making the coaching staff go directions they don't want to.

They have other holes too, picking DHB over Crabtree could haunt them for a decade. The offensive line is shaky, and their defense will become pretty mediocre if they get rid of Asomugha. McNabb would be a huge upgrade at QB since Jamarcus's backups look good relative to Jamarcus, while not being all that good themselves.

The Oakland Raiders will not taste any semblance of success again until Al Davis brings in someone and gives them power to run the franchise as a football team and not as a collection of guys who can run fast or who they are too invested in to cut loose.

Curious, where do you find the line for being over weight.

As the QB's and others as well continue to be larger and larger ....

Is 6' 5" and 240 considered over weight ?

Jimbo

You mean 4192 ;) :D

Opps, what was I thinking , hmmm maybe the day before ...... :o:o:o

My bad, should I go back and edit my mistake ?
I knew that didn't sound right when I typed it .....

Thats what I get for doing a quick search instead of going by memory

Pete Rose has the most career base hits in MLB history, with 4,256. Ty Cobb is second with 4,189.

I won't name the site this came from.
