NFL 2009-10 Season

Salsa, how did Jarmacus look? I've always thought he was just purely raw talent and wouldn't have the smarts to be an effective NFL QB. So far he's done about what I've expected.

Another thing....and it has been reported in many places....this is NOT the same JaMarcus of last year. MUCH more mature and alot smarter as in what the defense gives him and the personnel he has...

45-7 white wash!!

EVERYTHING they did yesterday, did not work. The team looked totally UNPREPAIRED for what New Orleans had for them. There is still a glaring problem in the middle of the defensive line that the Raiders have not addressed since Warren Sapp left, a plug in the middle of that line to stop the run. The Raiders have done nothing in either free agency nor by way of draft. The offense was completely out of sync.

THANK GOD they have one more preseason game to SOMEWHAT patch that problem. This game looked very similar to the Raiders 1st game of the season against the Boncos.

:(:(:(
Looks like the Raiders are in midseason form. Look out Detroit! There may be another 0-16 team coming. :D

I think Denver will be the laughingstock of the AFC West, not Oakland.

If they get rid of Brandon Marshall, they will be the WORST team in all of football.

Worse than the Lions, worse than the Rams, worse than the Raiders.

....and the preseason means nothing...if I am not mistaken, the Lions were UNDEFEATED last year in the preseason(sorry Paul)....and you saw how that turned out. Luckily, the Raiders have 2 weeks to refocus on the fundamentals of tackling, discipline and ball control. THAT is the keys to good football. Two weeks is not enough time to fix all problems, but hopefully it will be enough to fix some of them.

Didn't see yesterday's game, but the game between the Browns/Lions, he looked awful. Missing targets by 4-5 yards at a time. Of course, he is still young and should grow into the roll. Plus, it's preseason....

Stafford yesterday was like 14-19 and 160 yards ....
Looks like he moved the ball well.

Over/under:

17 combined wins for Salsa's favorite football teams- the Raiders and Miami Hurricanes?
Under. Waaaaaaay under. The Canes will be lucky to get 7 wins this year. You do the math. Should have set the bar at 12 combined. That would be more of an even bet.

The Lions normally have a decent Pre season and falter once the season goes on.

Sounds about right....about 17....8 for the Raiders and 9 for The U.
That's a bold prediction. Miami will be lucky to avoid going 1-3 to start the year. So you're saying they win 8 of their last 9 after that? And a .500 season from the Raiders? The same team that lost by 40 points last night. The Raiders couldn't go .500 in the Pac 10.

Cassel is out 2-4 weeks with a sprained MCL.

Broncos have had 2 WRs get injured since Marshall was suspended, when it rains it pours over there (and man has it been pouring since McDaniels was hired). Gaffney has broken his thumb, and Eddie Royal was dinged in tonights game but was able to return. They also had to help a starting guard off the field, he wasnt able to put any weight on one of his feet.

As for preseason stuff... yeah it only counts for so much, but when your sole highlight in the first half is a 12 yard competion (the first play) and your offense cant score until its your 2nd stringers vs their 3rd+, there's no denying there's some panicing going on in Oakland. They sure were treating it like a real game the way they abandoned the run, with McFadden and Bush combining for 1 yard on 4 carries (the entire game). At the half Brunell's 3 completions against the Raiders 1st team defense resulted in more yardage than the Raiders first team offense the entire first half.

Of course im sure every time they got burned or weren't able to wrap up a tackle they'd think 'its just preseason'. I don't see how that makes it so easy to dismiss such a horrible performance (not just as a team, but individually... penalties... mistakes... etc). Can only imagine what would have happened if the Saints had their top 2 rushers available in Bush and Pierce.

I haven't been able to watch a ton of preseason this year, but if anything's made me hopeful about the Chiefs' chances, watching that game was it - playing against the Raiders week two will probably give us a good idea of who will be battling Denver for the celler in the AFC west. The week after Baltimore trashes Kansas City, Oakland should be a nice rebound game (and probably the debut of Cassel in the regular season).

I think they will go 2-2 to start the season....winning against FSU and winning against either at WEAKER Va Tech(with the loss of the top offensive player) on the road and/or Georgia Tech. As easily as they can go 1-3, they are good enough to go 3-1.

As far as the Raiders go, since you are putting such a huge claim on PRESEASON GAMES, I guess the Dallas Cowboys have NO CHANCE of making the playoffs because the Raiders put an ass whipping on them....

...IF you go by YOUR logic of the importance of winning and/or losing preseason games...
