NFL 2009-10 Season

Well, the Browns finally got the monkey off their back.

They got an offensive touchdown!

1st TD since Brady Quinn broke his finger in that epic Buffalo Bills game of last year. Before Saturday, the 72-yard TD run by Jerome Harrison in that Bills game back in November was the last TD for the Browns.

- Holy hell, this team looked completely different from the week before! Either the Lions are still god awful, or the Browns addressed and fixed some issues from the previous week. Hard to tell...

- Derek Anderson appeared to even out the QB competition. He started the game and drove the team down the field for 3 scores. It was 20-0 after Quarter 1!

- The biggest playmaker on our team was an undrafted walk-on and former QB from Kent State University. His name: Josh Cribbs. He further sealed his talents as a special teamer on Saturday night. On the very first play, he ran back a 95-yard kickoff for a TD (which was unfortunately called back on a holding call). Then, on the first Lion's punt, Cribbs again, returned it for a TD. Oh, did I also mention this dude is also in the running for earing the #2 WR spot, opposite of Braylon Edwards? Is there anything Cribbs can't do?!

- While the Lions were missing their top receivers (Calvin Johnson and Dennis Northcutt), I was not impressed with Matthew Stafford at all! All of his passes weren't even close to his targets. Some, 10-15 yards off! If the Lions start him to begin the season, it would be a good way to ruin a young QB. Let him learn on the sidelines until the game slows down for him.

- Quinn took the reins in the 2nd quarter, but was victimized by a few costly offensive penalties which stalled some of his drives. Heading into preseason week 3, QB1 status is anybody's to take.

- BTW, I like this kid James Davis. Remember when I gave my review of the Browns draft, way back when? I predicted that this 6th round RB from Clemson would be a steal. Saturday, he made me look like a genius: 12 carries for 116 yards and a TD. Woah....

Seriously, is there any doubt here? The march to XXXII starts in 3 weeks.

Your just now catching on to Josh Cribbs ?
He played last year as well.

He'd have signed if you had drafted him though, these 2 guys haven't signed because of the Raiders pick and the contract he got.

I have to disagree because he was heavily rumored to be picked either by YOUR Chiefs or the Seahawks at #5. He would have bitched and complained he should have gotten top 5 money....

...he was notoriously known for being an arrogant jerk with a bad attitude..and NOW by willing to holdout until NEXT YEAR is proving that point precisely.
