Vegas Meets Week 4 in the NFL. Brought to you by HDanny Ocean
Week 4 should be interesting in THE National Football League. When scouring the Vegas lines, I found a few things particularly intriguing.....
1. The 0-3 Titans are 3 point favorites on the road. I wonder if this ever happened before?
2. The 3-0 Broncos are 3 point dogs at home! I wonder if this has ever happened before?
3. The 3-0 Ravens are 2 point dogs on the road to New England. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Ravens not only easily covered this spread, but beat the Pats by 2 scores. This Ravens team is the most complete team in the AFC right now.
4. The biggest point spread differential is between the Bears and Lions. I suppose Vegas doesn't like the odds of the Lions winning 2 in a row? The Bears are 10 point favorites in this game.
5. Right now, Vegas has the Bengals as 6 point favorites over the Browns. Call me silly, but I'm still not sold on the Bengals. If Eric Mangini names Derek Anderson the starter this week, the Browns covering this spread and possibly beating the Bengals outright is my upset of the week. If Quinn remains the starter though, I wouldn't want any part of this action.
6. The Saints are favored by 7 over the Jets. While I don't think Drew Brees will go 2 weeks without throwing for a TD, this game could really go either way. If the Jets win this one though, they may very well go 9-0 until they see their next formidable opponent on Week 11 at New England.
7. The fact that Washington is a 7 point favorite over Tampa Bay shows you just how bad the Bucs really are. Yikes!
8. The Seattle @ Indy game may be over by the 2nd quarter. If I were a fantasy owner with any Colts, I'd be salivating at this matchup.
9. After a tough Week 3 loss, the Niners return home to the Bay and nothing will cleanse the pallet like a home game against the horrid Rams. With or without Frank Gore, look for the Niners to exceed the 9.5 points they're being favored by.
10. While I expect Pittsburgh to get back on track somewhat this week, a 6.5 point favorite against the Chargers? Really Vegas? Historically, the matchups between these 2 teams have been heavily contested. This one should come down to the final possession.
11. Green Bay @ Minnesota is a suckers bet. The Vikes are only 3.5 favorites? From what I've seen so far, the Packers just aren't playing on the same level as the Vikings are yet. Plus the Vikes are at home. Despite giving the Packers 3.5 points, look for them to more than cover. The Williams brothers are going to have a field day with the Packers decimated O-Line.
