NFL 2008-09 Season

Final thought of the night:

With this win, the Browns should've gained all the confidence in the world to turn their season around. We're 2-3 and in 2nd place in the AFC North. The NFL is wide open this year and anything is possible. But regardless of how things turn out in the end, it will be fun again to watch the Browns if they turn out this type of effort every week.

Just looking at the AFC right now, the Browns have a legitimate shot at the playoffs:

EAST- IMO, only the division winner makes it........more than likely the Bills (if my Pats can't make it, I want the Bills to)

WEST- Again, I only see one team....probably the Chargers (I think the Broncos will fade)

SOUTH- This is where it's interesting. Do the three teams, once again, make it from this division?

NORTH- I think the Steelers will win it, but after watching the Browns tonight (I know, I picked them to win the division) they are a legit wildcard threat.

That's seven or possibily eight teams fighting for six spots.

HD MM, it's possible!

In August, I said that the Giants may have clobbered Cleveland in a meaningless game, but they would lose when it counts. I said these exact words:

"when these teams meet when it counts on Monday night in Cleveland, the Browns will expose the Giants."

I AM A PSYCHIC!

That reminds me, remember the foolish thread that was started that night?

Who's laughing now? :D

Sabres, it's well established that we don't agree on the Giants.

However, we can both agree that thread was the dumbest thread ever!

That's right! Where's that hater now? Evidently trolls only come out to entice bad blood.

You mean to tellme that the Browns play ONE good game and suddenly they are SB contenders ?

Jimbo

Last night's win doesn't necessarily make them a legit Super Bowl contender. The Browns still have much to prove. Last nights win does however go a long way in making us a legit playoff contender though. There's a big difference in a 2-3 record and a 1-4 record.

Let's not get carried away here...EVERY SINGLE WEEK of the NFL season, we have seen some huge games where teams that were SUPPOSE to win...get blown out...and teams that were suppose to lose crush the so-called favorite.
I think it is way to early to establish "playoff teams" and "Super Bowl contenders".

It was just ONE WIN....a GREAT and DESPERATELY needed win for the Browns....but just one win EARLY in the season. The ONLY thing it proved was the trend of the season so far...NO ONE is a clear favorite and ANYONE can win on any given Sunday.

Parity....exactly what the league wanted.

Just read a stat on tonights game: The Browns had ZERO punts tonight!

Let me expand on this and other stats from last night....

This was the first time since 1936 that the Giants didn't force a punt or a turnover.

Not only did the Browns have ZERO punts, but they also didn't give up a single sack. The Browns also didn't commit a turnover of any kind. Amazing what an NFL QB can do when given time in the pocket! Ryan Tucker coming back clearly was one of the main difference makers last night.
