NFL 2008-09 Season

Monday Morning QB: Week 5

1) Titans and Giants are the last remaining undefeated teams. They seem to have found the formula for success: Defense and running the ball effectively.

2) Another impressive win for the Skins. In the last 2 weeks, the Redskins have beaten both the Cowboys and Eagles on the road. And their offense has STILL not committed any turnovers!

3) The Chiefs are who we thought they were. Last week was clearly an aberration. As long as they keep up this quarterback carousel, they will continue to lose. I still think they're worse than the Rams and Lions. And how can Larry Johnson have 28 carries for 198 yards and 2 TD's one week and the next run only 7 times for 2 yards!? Talk about an unbalanced offensive plan!

4) Sage Rosenfels is the dunce of the week.

5) Cincinnati showed a lot of heart in their loss to Dallas. If they keep playing that way, they will win multiple games this season.

6) Who is worse, Detroit or St. Louis? "The Bottle" looked like Joe Montana against the Lion's secondary on Sunday. And pulling Kitna for Danny O is not your answer either. As a Browns fan, I speak from experience: Throwing an inexperienced QB under center behind a shoddy O-Line is the quickest way to ruin a QB. Leave the veteran in until you fix the line.

7) Has Seattle EVER won a 1pm game on the East coast?

8) The Steelers are clearly still the team to beat in the AFC North. Impressive victory last night against the Jags.

9) Miami wins 2 in a row..... first against the Patriots, then against the Chargers?! There IS reason to believe again in Fin-Town. They may be onto something with this new offense too.

10) Tonight's MNF game should be fun. Adrian Peterson vs. Reggie Bush and Drew Brees!

"Daze Of Our Lions"

Another beat down, but who cares, I made a boat load of money betting against them.

Today's thoughts:

- Fire Marinelli? And hire whom? Nobody on the current staff is the answer. Unless Bill Cowher fell out of bed and hit his head.

- Opposing QB's rating - 122.2 Brett Favre leads the league at 110.8. 2 of those QB's were making they're first starts, Rodgers (GB) just became a starter, and Kyle Orton had a "career" day.

- Defense is giving up almost 37 pts. a game. Offense scoring under 17 pts. a game.

- 2 weeks to prepare, and this is what we got? Receivers running the wrong routes, QB's throwing to areas where nobody was? (Including defenders and ref's). A defense that looked equally confused?

- Offense has yet to score in the first Q.

- 7 interceptions thrown this season. 0 interceptions made by the defense.

- 1-11 since midway last season.

- On second thought, fire Marinelli. 36 games and his message hasn't sunk in. The team has certainly sank, though. We can lose with anyone. Even Lombardi would be discouraged if he coached this team.

- I hope those of you's who picked the Lions have learned your lesson. Betting against the Lions are the only "lock" in football. Bye, bye. I'm going to the bank. HA, HA, HA!

Hire Lane Kiffin.....he HAD something going in Oakland. He will be cheap and DOES have NFL experience.

Sorry, but the Fords really need to get this right, this time. Life is too short, and I'm already on borrowed time. We need to do something like Miami did, so does Oakland.

What do you mean you're on borrowed time? Is something wrong?

Who's your pick for NFL player of the week?

My pick is the guy who HD MM has dubbed Neckbeard- 24-34, 334 yards, 2 TD's.

You mean, Kyle "The Bottle"??

This guy? ..... :D:D:D
