NFL 2008-09 Season

This was one of the weirdest football games I've seen.

The Vikings SURVIVE a wild game.

Three things I learned:

1. Gus Frerotte was the right choice at QB.

2. Bernard Berrian proved that he IS worth that money.

3. How was that late pass interference a 'spot of foul' penalty- whatever happened to 15 yards?

Saints done in again because they are mistake prone. Bad penalties, sloppy execution, fumbles.

Fun Team to watch, but can't be taken seriously. Reggie Bush outstanding effort wasted, and something tells me it will be "Gramatica Unemployed" come tomarrow.

With that said....

MY WEEK 5 BOTTOM 10:

10. New Orleans
9. San Francisco
8. Seattle
7. Oakland
6. Cincinnati
5. Houston
4. Kansas City
3. Cleveland
2. Detroit
1. St. Louis

Charles,
I have the same ten teams, just a slightly different order.

My Week 5- Bottom Ten:

23. New Orleans
24. Oakland
25. Cleveland
26. San Francisco
27. Kansas City
28. Seattle
29. Cincinnati
30. Houston
31. Detroit
32. St. Louis

After seeing some of the highlights, I think that the Saints might have gotten hosed- the non-call on the facemask, and what looked like an Adrian Peterson fumble was not ruled one.

Did the Saints get hosed?

Iceberg, if you're listening, consider yourself lucky.

Ed Hochuli didn't earn any new fans tonight, but the Saints had 4 TO and a blocked FG for a MIN TD and had a WTF moment trying a on-side kick in the 2nd quarter.

The Saints were their own worst enemy.

In that case, I have upgraded the Giants from being Texas Tech-esque to being like the Missouri Tigers- one impressive win (Redskins, Illinois) and a string of cupcake opponents.

Very good, but I'm still skeptical (I want to see Mizzou against the Longhorns; ditto for the Giants against other opponents)

Ok Sabres.....I am curious...your Bills BARELY got by my Raiders, they barely beat a decent team in Jacksonville, they did crush Seattle and it took a late comeback to double the Rams....and then got totally mauled by a Cardinal team that just got little up like a Christmas tree by the so-so Jets....do you rate the Bills BETTER than the Giants....??!

No quit in Lions coach Marinelli, says talk is 'personal insult'

At least they're not going down without a fight. I'll give them that.

One particular quote though I found interesting was....:eek::eek::eek:

We still have a realistic chance to make the playoffs, believe it or not," receiver Roy Williams said. "We can still be 12-4, 10-6 or 11-5. It happened before. It happened with the '92 Chargers. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen."

Pass interference has always been a spot foul in the NFL. It's only a 15 yard penalty in college.

Geez guys, what does Detroit have to do to get to #32? I seriously believe that the Rams would beat Detroit. The players have already quit on this season.

And the Rams have to go to Washington.

My god, they are going to get absolutely slaughtered- I predict a 54-14 loss.

IMO, they are ranked #34 in a 32 team-league.

That sounds like the score from the Etroit (Is it Ok that I use that?)/ Washington game last year. And this year Washington is good! This years rematch will be ugly also. We went 6-2 in the first 8 games last season, one of the losses was to Washington, the other, which was almost equally horrific was to Philadelphia. At least we don't have Phili again.

Why would Marinelli quit? The economy and job market in Detroit sucks. A paycheck is better than no paycheck.

As for Roy Williams - he should be tested for drugs, LSD in particular.

Skated around throat cancer 8 years ago. In remission, but you never know how these things will go.

i'm sorry to hear that. i don't know if you smoke but i had an uncle with this and he quit smoking when he got cancer in his throat. when he went in remission after almost 6 months he started smoking again and in 2 months the cancer came back and killed him in about a month. please take care of yourself. i'm sure you have plenty of people who care about you.
