Next software upgrade for vip211?

I been putting up with a flakey Hdmi connection for a while.(yes, it does still work but not without issues)
Just wondering when Dish plans to release their next update. If anybody has that knowledge please respond.

Hopefully they are about to allow USB external HD archiving very soon which would require a firmware update.

I doubt that will happen with the 211. No USB port.

No the 211 does have a USB Port and I think the 411 does also.. As far as ports the only thing diffrent from 211 and 411 is the ethernet port. So they could use a firmware update to make it active so you could use a HD.

The external HD storage via USB would be absolutely great if they did it. Is there any confirmation that it is in E* future plans for the 211?

Yeah this would be great! But we will just have to waite and see what they do.
