Come on you are a smart guy you really want to compare Toledos schedule to FLAS? I'll give them credit for having FLA and Missouri but then they have no one else on the schedule. Missouri is a bottom tier SEC team, FLA well will either be in the middle or top. But even bottom Tier Missouri would be in the middle/top of the MAC..
Toledo will not play against a team higher ranked than FLA all year. FLA how ever will be playing quite possibly 4 top ten teams. (lsu, scar, ga, fsu) Toledo needs the help in schedule FLA doesn't. Now that is not to say I do not wish we would schedule bigger teams, I like the fact we added Miami this year. While not the power house of old, they certainly are better than toledo and a nice warm up before SEC play and it will be in Miami.
Miami last year was in the top of the ACC, and they also returned the most players of any ACC team.
As far as playing big games on the Road, FLA is doing that with Miami, and did it with ACC champion FSU last year. (yea we play FSU every year we are required to)
But the SEC does play big games with other teams, as much as the other big conferences do. Pick a conference big ten, pac12, acc, etc etc and you will find the same type of scheduling you do in the SEC.
Look at Ohio St
Buffalo (hey from the mac like toledo.. and worse record), San Diego St, Cal, Florida AnM.
FLA at least is playing 2 teams who have a chance at being conference champions in a major conference. (ok I laughed a little when I called the ACC major but it is what it is.)
