Does anybody think the highest bidder for the championship game won't be Dallas?
A very good possibility.

I still wish they had gone with on campus games. Imagine the national championship game being played at Bryant Denny, or the Big House, or the Horseshoe, or Death Valley.

Sure, it is a big atmosphere wherever it is, but on campus, in those settings, well, it would be electric to say the least.

Hmmm, Big 10 country in January. Brrrrrrrr. Maybe if they put a dome in. :D I prefer a "neutral site", i.e. not someone's home field or in their back yard. The Silver Dome is fine with me. So is Jerry World. I'd be less happy with the Rose Bowl.

Fire up the grill before hand, and "juice up". You will be good to go :D

They play football up north too, cold weather has to be dealt with, no big deal ...
Man up, play Big Boy football .... cold weather should be part of the equation, most cases it's not all that cold up here on Jan 1.

That and it would give the northern teams a chance. Everyone knows that they do not play well in nice weather. ;)

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Is SEC already boosting Mizzou, Texas A&M?

Texas A&M and Missouri have a reasonable shot at assembling their highest-ranked recruiting classes since the current version of Rivals.com formed in 2002, just as each school prepares for its inaugural season in the Southeastern Conference.
Membership in the conference that has produced the last six national champions is clearly the reason why each school is recruiting so well, right?
"Everybody wants to be in the SEC," said Southlake (Texas) Carroll dual-threat quarterback Kenny Hill, a Texas A&M verbal commitment and the No. 178 overall prospect in the Class of 2013.

As of Wednesday morning, Texas A&M was fourth in the Rivals.com2013 team recruiting rankings with verbal commitments from 20 players, including nine four-star recruits. Missouri was 17th and had commitments from 13 players, including three four-star prospects.?
Texas A&M's top finish ever in the Rivals recruiting rankings was eighth in 2005. Missouri has ranked in the top 25 just twice, including a best-ever 21st-place finish in 2010.

Let the players man up. This old man ain't sitting out in the cold. I don't even own a parka.

I would prefer campus sites also.
The BCSNCG now has too much of a NFL "feel".

I wish too that the semi-final would be two weeks after the season followed up with the championship game New Years Day.

Anything more than 4 right now, would require a major overhaul of the FBS. The bowls still hold too much power to allow that, in addition you don't want the season to go longer than it is now. Taking back News Years Day is a big step I think needs to happen now. I also think moving the major bowls to ESPN was a mistake too. They should keep all the News Year Day bowls on OTA including the eventual title game and no more of this starting games at 8-8:30 Central so they can get it in prime time on both coasts.

Some of us can't get OTA and I don't know about you but every time watch a damn game on Fox I get mad cause they would rather cut to commercial from end of play to a few seconds into the next play than stay with camera on field. At least ESPN will keep the field in the background or show something game related while they discuss things and time commercials better.

My take on the 4 team playoff is fine as long as they take Conf champs into the majority of consideration. I stand by the fact that no team should play for the national championship without winning its conference title. I would also like to see these games played on home field of higher seed/ranking team, ticket sales would be more than fine, in fact stadiums would likely sell out in a day from home field fans if allotted the majority as it normally is.

By OTA I mean't Network TV, which most people get via an antenna, cable, or sat. Actually I do prefer Fox coverage, maybe because half of the Big 12 games are on FX or RSN's in addition to Dallas Cowboy's games. I just don't care for espn's coverage.

I do agree with winning the conference. If they want the regular season to mean something like they say, then winning the Conference has to be a factor. I actually like the compromise of playing the semi-finals in the bowls as long it goes to the higher ranked teams conference bowl and the Big 12 can get out of being aligned with the crappy Fiesta bowl and move things back to Dallas, KC, or St.Louis for the Big 12's bowl alignment. I wouldn't mind the home field of the higher ranked team, but the fear is that odd ball year, when you get a team with a small 40,000 seat stadium that makes that once a millennium run. For the most part though those games are going to be in Austin, Norman, Tuscaloosa,Columbus, Madison etc...

I think the 4 best teams should play in the play off. How many NFL teams who didnt win there division go on to win the super bowl? The wild card is there for a reason because sometimes a division/conference etc has so many high quality teams that they need the space. The fact the SEC had the 2 top teams in the nation last year was a perfect example. No doubt about LSU being the best team in the nation all season long, beating the best other conferences had to offer. Then Alabama of course beats them in the title game.

The national title should be the best teams in div1 playing, not just the winners of each conference. I mean really you think the big east champ would of deserved a shot over Alabama last year?

Let's not start that again. It is not everyone's opinion that the 2 best teams were in the championship last season.

My gripe is they keep saying they want to protect the importance of the regular season. Well if winning your conference doesn't mean squat, then do away with the conferences and let everyone freely schedule like Notre Dame.

Well winning your conference can mean you only lost 1 game all season. Is it not possible for a 1 loss team to be the 2nd best team in the nation? Specially when there is only 1 undefeated team (the one who beat you) ? The regular season still matters, because if you become a 2 loss team instead of a 1 loss team you can very likely drop out of the top ten. Let alone have little to no chance at a 4 team playoff.
