That good ol sec bias apparently can't see the point. Playing those games late in the season as opposed to early in the season does have an effect on the rankings and how people vote. Most of the voters in the polls don't follow college football and shouldn't be voting. Appearance is everything, they look and see that woohoo Alabama won in week 11, damn they really are good, but oh dear Oregon lost in week 11, they must not be that good. Nobody looks to see Alabama was playing a mediocre Georgia Southern and Oregon was playing a very good USC. Considering the BCS rankings don't start until week 7 or whatever, it does make a difference.

Also you heard me right, get over yourself, the Big 12 conference schedule is just as tough as the sec's

The Big 12 is certainly allowed to change who it plays and when if it so chooses.

and really the Big 12 is as tough a conference schedule as the SEC?

I mean last year FLA had to play, LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, and South Carolina. 5 top 25 teams. Each of those teams (with the exception of LSU and GA) went on to win there bowl game against OOC teams like

Nebraska, Virginia, and FLA beating Ohio state.
GA lost in OT to Mich State (the second best team in the Big 10 GA not even top 4 in the SEC)

I mean can you find me a Big 12 schedule with as many ranked teams? 3 of those teams FLA played remained ranked in the Top 10 after the end of the season, Only 1 fell out of the top 25 )at number 27 Auburn.

The SEC finished with 4 Top Ten teams, and 1 team top 25. That's 5 out of 12 teams ranked, with 5 teams ranked higher then the big east and acc champion!

Lets look at the Big 12..

They had 1 team in the top Ten. OkSt. Then we have to go down to #13 for the next team Baylor, (who lose RG3 and will not even be on the map next year), then Kansas State. Thats it. 3 ranked teams only 1 in the top 10 and you tied with the SEC with 4 teams each with losing records.

Both the Big 10 and Pac 10 had more ranked teams left at the end of the year and better records.. Just saying.

Not to mention No other conference can say 5 Different teams in the last 10 years have won the national title.. Big 12 has been Texas and Oklahoma, (losing BOTH title games they played in) Against the SEC none the less.....

The Big 12 has really 3 teams (with OkSt only being a recent addition to this topic) who are national contenders. And 2 of those teams Texas and Oklahoma have been in a slump for the last many years. The SEC has 3 teams currently in the spotlight (LSU, Alabama and Arkansas) with 3 other teams nipping at the heals (Ga, SC, and FLA).

I have trouble finding any team other than OkSt who I think would have any chance at a national title shot next year. In the SEC I have about 5 teams who could do the deed.

Well since you want to go there.

Iowa State played 7 ranked teams
Texas A&M and Texas Tech played 6 ranked teams
OSU, OU, K State, Missouri, Kansas and Baylor each played 5 ranked teams
Texas played 4 ranked teams

The PAC 12 had 2 ranked teams, the Big 10 - 4 and the Big 12 - 5 in the final BCS poll.

NCAA College Football BCS Standings Week 15 - ESPN

Not sure how Texas was even ranked in the BCS... Nor auburn for that matter. I must of missed both of them.

Iowa St, 2 of the teams were not ranked at the end of the year, leaving only 5 ranked teams. And losing to Rutgers in the bowl game
AnM of course losing to Arkansas (from where?)

But who's counting. I mean it is really silly the argument, because it should be settled on the field right? (In which the SEC has dominated the Big 12 in the last 5+ years we can go back farther if you want but really in college football about 5 years is the life span as that is the length of a recruiting class. I mean we can still call Yale and Harvard power houses since they won so many championships in the day...)

The Big 12 had 2 chances to beat the SEC in title games in the last 5 years.. In both games they embarrassed themselves.

Lets look at who are the tops in the Big 12 coming into next year..

OkSt
Ok
Kansas St
Texas (of which we do not know if they are even back yet)

Of those 4 teams only 2 do I believe has a shot at any national title berth and that is Ok St (barely) and Ok. I believe they really should of went last year as well. I do not think they would of won against LSU by any means however. The SEC has proven time and again Defense can stop those "high powered" big 12 offenses with little problem (see Ok, and texas v fla and alabama).

Kansas State while making a name for itself last year in the Big 12 with a nice finish has not typically been a contender, and will if history is a judge likely be falling behind as well next year. The last time they did anything was in 2003 winning the big 12 but losing to Ohio st in the Fiesta bowl. Last year They came in Second in the big 12 and of course Lost to Arkansas (from where?) in the bowl game.

Oklahoma had a respectable season last year and will be a contender for the big 12 and possibly a national title. There biggest obstacle of course is Ok State. Who they have dominated the series against but last year OkSt made a very impressive showing. They are certainly a team to watch out for in the national title picture.

Oklahoma state is a team that also will be one to watch out for. My worry for them though is they lost the best receiver in the league last year (by stats) and a very good QB. How far they will go next year will be a guessing game for them as they lost A LOT of offense. And there defense was not that amazing to begin with, and without such a good offense it will be hard for them to maintain the previous years accomplishments.

Of the big 12 teams in contention id have to say Oklahoma is probably the front runner, and the Big 12 will be lucky to have 4 ranked teams at the end of next season.

Baylor without RG3 will be lucky to finish bowl eligible like there usual seasons.

So why wasn't the Big 12 complaining when undefeated Auburn got left out?

Why didn't they complain when non-conference champions Oklahoma & Nebraska made it to the BCS Championship game?

Seems like selective outrage to me...

They also saw that hey, Oregon has now lost 2 games, and one to the same team that beat Bama.
Bama on the other hand has only lost one.

The loss at the beginning of the season hurt them just as much as the one at the end. Had they only lost one of the two, they would have still been in the hunt.

Also you heard me right, get over yourself, the Big 12 conference schedule is just as tough as the sec's

Some years it may be close, recently, IMO, it has not though. Bias or not, my opinion is that the SEC conference schedule is the toughest to play through in the nation. Seems to be a fairly widely held opinion.

+1

Forgot to mention it yesterday, so today will have to do.

It is official now.
Texas A&M and Missouri, welcome to the SEC, and good luck!

Alabama fans troll Death Valley and LSU?s Campus

TROLL-TIDE-51.jpg

Troll Tide yall!

An Alabama Crimson Tide fan living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana sent in these photos that were taken around LSU’s campus and Tiger Stadium (aka Death Valley). The Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the LSU Tigers 21 to 0 during the Allstate BCS National Championship. The game was a rematch between Alabama and LSU where LSU originally beat Alabama 9 to 6 in what was called “The game of the century” by most. No touchdowns were scored and Alabama’s kicker (Cade Foster) missed some field goals and received death threats. He was forced to delete his Facebook account it got so bad.
The championship game happened in January and Alabama fans are still trolling LSU as you can see by all of these pictures. Some of these are absolutely hilarious and creative. I can’t believe no security guards say this guy especially since LSU is renovating Death Valley. The Alabama fan plastered the campus with this signs and even used an Alabama hat for Mike The Tiger.

Well, at least the rubes kept their genitals in their pants this time. You know that will be hanging in the LSU locker room from now through next season.

I suppose it was payback for this:

oh good lord.....

Now I like the smurf turf in Boise....but this field is beyond "WTF????"
NAIA school unveils the nation

If you thought Boise State's field was obnoxious, a small college in Belleville, Ill., is putting the Smurf turf to shame.

The University of Lindenwood-Belleville will have it's first football season this fall and, in an effort to make it unforgettable, the university decided to design an original field striped red and gray to represent the school's colors.

We've seen all blue fields (Boise State) and all red fields (Eastern Washington), and we've even seen stripes (Central Arkansas), but this, this is an abomination to the game. It looks like a flattened out barbershop pole. Whatever happened to good ol' green?
