NCAA Football 2008-09 Season

I really hadn't looked, but ya, it's Purdue, then a team that I always have second thoughts about, Michigan State, they have another very good RB, Mr. Ringer is another top notch RB in the Big Ten, man the Big 10 has thier share of very good RB's, if they get past the Spartans it's on to the NEXT big battle for the Buck's when # 6 Penn State comes to Columbus....

Jimbo

That should be a good game.:)

I wouldn't worry too much, this is the point in the schedule where MSU begins it's annual collapse. Check the records.

Just checked the College Gameday website.

FINALLY, they're going to a Big 12 game- Texas/Oklahoma.

For once, they aren't going to an SEC game.

Is that a surprise? Gameday goes wherever the biggest game is. They haven't done a Big XII game yet because the Big XII just began conference play and most of their teams chose to play cupcakes early in the season.

They had done SEC games almost all the time.

I thought they might make an excuse go to LSU/Florida because the Tigers are ranked #3 and Florida has the almighty Tebow.

BTW, speaking of rankings, I expect UNC to be ranked as soon as we find out this week's rankings. Their one loss was to a ranked VaTech team, not UNLV or some other cupcake.

Carolina is ranked now. They are 22 in the AP. They are just out of the coaches poll. Incredibly Wisconsin is STILL ranked in their poll. The coaches poll is complete BS. They have lots of teams ranked oddly.

Coaches poll should not even be in existance.
I would seriously hope that the coach of MY team would be more interested in winniong his game then watching all the other games and decide on voting.
Most of the coaches let the SID do the voting anyways.

It's useless.

I hear ya Jimbo, but after last night's game where do you think Jim Tressel, or his SID, ranked Wisconsin? I'm guessing Tressel's poll was Ohio St #1, USC, #2, Wisconsin, #3 and Penn St #4. That poll should be abolished.

That's what I'm saying, the coaches polls should not even be there.
I am sure that USC is hoping that Pryor ends up with the Heisman this year, that would mean that USC's win would be even more creditable over the Buck's.

Next week is setting up like a marquee week with a couple of big games: OU/Texas, LSU/Florida, and the battle of the unbeatens with awesome offense- Oklahoma State vs. Mizzou.

(BTW, jwfgeol, I'm afraid Tennessee/Georgia could be a slaughter)

November 1st, though, might be just as big.

I was watching the USC Trojans highlights and realized that they were playing at home again.

Do they ever play west of Arizona ?
Correction, make that EAST :D

Oklahoma St is overrated. Their coach may be 40 and a man, but they will get killed by Missouri.

Carolina-Notre Dame should be good as well. Both teams are 4-1, and Irish fans are trying to convince people that they are good again (actually I don't know if they ever quit trying).

USC did play at Virginia.

When did Florida last play outside of the Southeast?

Or LSU? Or Alabama? Or Penn State oustide of Big Ten territory?

SEC finally played a game outside of thier conference when Georgia went to Arizona earlier this year.
After looking at the USC schedule I remembered that they played the first game on the road.
I believe that they only have 1 out of conference road game this year.
At least next year they will come to Columbus.

Jimbo

Most teams only play one non conference road game. USC does take all comers. Not only did they go to Virginia this year and host Ohio St, but they have made trips to Nebraska, Auburn, Arkansas and played Virginia Tech in DC all within this decade. The Trojans fear no one, except maybe Oregon St. :D
