NCAA Football 2008-09 Season

What time will the Ok. / T T game be, any word yet, I'm sure it has a scheduled time already, subject to change.

Jimbo
I think it's the ABC primetime game (8pm ET).

Hope your feeling better today Jimbo. :)

I know from experience that sore throats suck! :(

:up Then again, the stronger the SEC, the better our teams look in the polls. Still nice to see rivals get spanked though. :p

Signing off to watch the game.

GEAUX TIGERS!!! :D

Must be nice being an untouchable conference

Any other conference does this (heaven forbid the Big East), and "they suck, they should lose their BCS bid..." etc

Almost looked like the MICHIGAN of old yesterday. Defense stomps on a Minnesota team that thought they would get the Jug back. NOT! Might have been the last chance for quite a while, again.

Good to see you in a positive light again Paul,

Thats never a good sign for the "Team down South " of the M border that is. :)

As I said earlier, for all of Michigan's struggles, they can still always beat Minnesota. Haven't lost to them on the road since 1977.

As I mentioned in the beginning of the year, M would struggle learning the new system, but get better as the season goes along... they will be fine by the time they play the Bucks ...
Just in time to finish off any chance of the Bucks going to a real bowl game.

Michael Crabtree is awesome. I just pray for his sake that he doesn't get drafted by Oakland or Detroit. Seriously. I'd play in the Arena League or in Canada before I'd sign with those teams.

and he goes to teh Detroit Lions in the 2009 NFL draft.
This time it would actually be a good choice.

I'd like to see him go to Arizona.

#1 - I can see Oakland.

#2 - You're still drinking the Millen Kool-Aid. We traded Williams because we can't afford 2 star receivers. Nobody to throw the ball to them, no defense , no O-line. I'll stop there, it would be shorter to list what we don't need besides Crabtree.

#3 - You're drinking the Millen Kool-aid also. They already have 2 All-Pro caliber receivers already.

You've also got Michigan St-Penn St that day. Any chance Ohio St-Michigan gets relegated to the Big Ten Network? I mean they don't even play for a jug or nothing.

Yeah, that will happen. Even with the Big Ten championship on the back-burner, this game is still the biggest game in the land. Records mean nothing in this matchup.

I didn't say I wanted that, just saying I wouldn't put it past them.

I'm not the only one who thinks next week will be a so-so week on the college gridiron.

Checked out MSNBC Sports "Extra Points," and they had this to say:

Quiet week ahead:

Although this past week brought an added touch of clarity to the top of the BCS picture, the upcoming slate isn’t likely to do the same. Other than possibly sorting out the muddled ACC (Virginia Tech at Miami on Thursday, and Boston College at Florida State and North Carolina at Maryland on Saturday), don’t expect anything too noteworthy. The most excitement will be in Gainesville, where the Ol’ Ball Coach will be trying to find a way to get his Gamecocks in position to foul up Florida. Wouldn’t that be something?

The coaches poll is a joke. How can they rank Oklahoma above Texas, after Texas beat Oklahoma head to head? And how can they rank Florida above either Oklahoma OR Texas? All one loss teams, with Texas' loss coming to the number 2 ranked team, and Oklahoma's coming to the number 5 ranked team, and Florida's loss is to a non-ranked team. I agree that Florida is probably better than both of them, but c'mon, on field performance hasn't backed that up yet.

I think any of those three could be swapped out. Right now, Florida is putting up numbers as impressive (if not more so) as any team out there, so one could make the case that the on field performance IS backing that ranking up.

I wouldn't call it SEC bias. Oklahoma is just as over hyped every year as USC. The media fawn all over both teams. At least USC wins it's BCS games to back that up a little. It's not like these coaches are watching all of the games, though, right? I mean, they're probably a little more concerned with coaching their team than watching 25 games on Saturday. Stats and numbers in college football are meaningless. It doesn't matter if you beat a team by 20 points or 40 points. If you have a 3 or 4 touchdown lead in the 4th quarter, the other team has already quit playing hard. It doesn't matter if you tack on a few extra points, that doesn't mean you beat that team any more thoroughly. And Florida will have their chance to jump to the top of the mountain on December 6th. And they've been impressive, but among those wins in the past 5 or 6 weeks are Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Arkansas. Oklahoma attempts to run up scores to impress voters, just as USC has done against overmatched teams, and I know that some teams you can't help but score 50, but scoring 60 plus points against teams that are no longer trying shouldn't sway votes from coaches who don't even watch the games.

I tell ya every week that the polls mean nothing..
They will get into the game who THEY want to see regardless.
