NCAA Football 2007-08

They should actually do away with the "Coaches poll", seeing most coaches don't do the voting and don't have time to see anything other than highlights anyway.
No one has the time, which is why I agree that a 16 team playoff is needed. Take all the 1-A conference champs and how ever many wild cards are needed (5 I think) to get to 16.

Would even have the side benefit of making the conference championship games even bigger since they are a lock into the playoffs for the teams.

And as terrible as it sounds...and I know I have PLENTY of company when it comes to thinking this way....I hope EVERY SINGLE YEAR of the BCS existance, that the championship game is played by teams with 1 or 2 loses for BOTH teams. That way, you know FOR A FACT that alot of teams will be left out...and THAT is when there will be SOME move towards a playoff system. The problem has been that there has not been enough of those type of BCS Championship games to make these people even think about a playoff system.

Maybe they will take into account that LSU has only one loss because they were given a gift in the previous game that they had lost if not for the 1st down they received keeping thier last drive alive while being a good foot and a half short.

That will probably be a mute point after this weekend, Alabama should beat them

Jimbo

They still had 4th down to go, but, I understand where you're coming from - the Big 2!:D

I agree,
There seems to always be a team or two that potentially should go, outside of the 2 that do, every year, Last year Michigan thought that should go, previously Auburn and Oklahoma and I can't remember all of them, maybe Oklahoma DID go and someone else didn't, was that the year that Auburn should have ?

In 2005, there were 3 undefeated, Auburn USC & Oklahoma. Oklahoma did so badly against USC that it's a reasonable argument that Auburn should have played USC instead.

Prior to that year was a few 1 loss teams, Oklahoma LSU and USC. Oklahoma & LSU got into the game and USC was left out. A lot of people argued that Oklahoma shouldn't have been there, as they lost the Big 12 championship game. But unfortunately the computers did not use Conference Championship games in their equations (since changed), and they had Oklahoma as the only undefeated.

And LSU escapes again ... They are starting to look like the '02 Buckeye's.

Whens the last time LSU fans were FSU fans ?

tOSU looked pretty good against the Badgers today when they had to. And what's with Kansas - wow! When's the last time somebody slapped 70+ points on Nebraska?

Now it's BC's turn

BC trailing by 10 with about 7:00 left, was given a first down by the official when the player was about a half a yard short.....
I guess it's not ONLY LSU that gets these game saving calls, btw, 2 plays later BC has moved inside the 10 yard line.
infraction happened around the BC 45 yard line and they would have been punting.
Chalk up 7 points for BC as they just scored when FSU should have had the ball.

I have noticed that if FSU had not commited so many penalties....they could be winning BIG....

You noticed that too !!!!

Well it's over now, no miracle for BC tonight, Ryan picked off and returned for the game clinching TD.

Not over yet, but real close 27-17 little over a minute left.
Well this means that LSU gains the most by the FSU win ...

ASU lost today to Oregon 35-23

I think you meant # 2 Oregon, #3 LSU
I don't know, I would think LSU at # 2, but it really doesn't matter at this point.

Jimbo

OH CRAP!!! I didn't know ASU lost....

#1....Ohio State(much deserved)
#2....Oregon(see above)
#3....LSU(ONLY because Oregon beat an undefeated team ranked in the top ten....they beat anyone else....LSU is #2)

When LSU wins next week, they will claim #2.....REGARDLESS of what Oregon does.

No wonder my Hurricanes lost today....I just saw THE UGLIEST stat of a start QB I have EVER seen:

Miami (FL) Passing C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT

K. Freeman 1/14 84 6.0 1 3

My 2 year old son could have done THAT!!!

Man, where has the great Miami Hurricanes QB tradition has gone?!:(

Looks like LSU has an easy schedule the next few weeks until the last game against Arkansas, although I think they will take care of them too.
