When Syracuse was in a close first half, I thought they might be looking ahead to the Villanova game- that was before they asserted themselves in the second half.
They've been very impressive. Kansas too. Those are my favorites heading into March. Could it be 2003 all over again?IF they beat 'Nova....it will not matter what they do in the Big East tournament...they will be a #1 seed. They will have beaten MORE top ten teams than ANYONE in the country.
... I don't remember EVER saying that about the 'Cuse.

Q: Did you crush all the kids at this game as a youth?.......

That's an odd matchup. And South Carolina is going to get killed by Kentucky. I have no idea how they beat them earlier this year. They're barely a .500 team. I say Kentucky by 30.Watchable games tonight:
7:00 PM Tulsa-Duke ESPN 2
9:00 PM South Carolina-Kentucky ESPN 2
Tulsa-Duke would be much more fun if it were Duke at Tulsa, but unfortunately the big schools almost never play teams like Tulsa on the other team's home court.

Keep dreaming sister. Those would be interesting matchups, but the big boys don't have to do that. Sometimes they will play at a mid major, though only early in the season. Carolina played at Charleston this year, big mistake, and played at Nevada last year, and we played at Penn a couple of years ago. There should be some kind of rule where any team that qualifies as an at large has to play at least one game on the home court of a mid-major team the following year. Or any team that qualifies period.
Let's see Duke go to Logan, Utah, and play Utah State at the Spectrum, which not only holds more than Cameron overall, it has a 6,000 seat rabid student section...compared to 1,500 at Cameron. The noise level at the Spectrum makes Cameron seem like a big high school crowd.
Actually, this should have been the bracket busters matchups last weekend:
Kansas at BYU
Kentucky at New Mexico
Purdue at Butler
Syracuse at UTEP
Duke at Northern Iowa
Kansas State at St Mary's
Villanova at Utah State
West Virginia at Old Dominion
Ohio State at San Diego State
Georgetown at Cornell
Pittsburgh at UAB
Michigan State at Siena
Vanderbilt at Murray State
Wisconsin at VCU
Tennessee at Wichita State
Texas at Marshall
Texas A&M at Charlotte
Not at a neutral site, not in Puerto Rico or Cancun or at Disney, not in an NBA arena near the home team....ON THE HOME COURT of the home team. Give those teams a REAL chance for a quality win.
That would really bust some brackets...you would see many of the top 25 biting the dust that week.

The Penn game was the only one that for a player, Wayne Ellington was from Philly. No reason why we went Nevada, but they came to Chapel Hill twice. And the Charleston game was another 2 for 1 deal and Roy apparantly likes Bobby Cremins. For the record, that was a dumb move. Thanks for the loss there Roy.That's probably because Carolina had a senior on the team from the area. A couple of schools do that.
I didn't say it will happen, but it should happen. These schools deserve a home game against the big boys, and it would make for amazing theatre for the fans. You know, the ones who ultimately pay for everything?
