NCAA College Basketball 2009-10 Season

How has this Syracuse team been able to play better than they did last year?

(That's saying something, because I was impressed by last year's team with Flynn and Devendorf.)

Because they had pretty good recruiting year AND because ALL of the sophs they had.....got better, bigger and faster.....And I think the 'Cuse could do BETTER in the tournament because VERY FEW play a zone and NO ONE plays a zone like the 'Cuse.

Losing Devenpunk was addition by subtraction. They've gotten much bigger at the top of the 2/3 zone, making it one of the best editions of it that I've seen.

Agreed. Losing Devendorf meant losing the 8 TO's a game he was reponsible for.

Conferance RPI averages scores top teams
Big East top 8 teams -20
Big 12 top 8 teams -16
Big 10 top 5 teams -32
ACC top 5 teams -28
SEC top 5 teams -49

Not so sure the Big 12 conference is down.:D The Big East has great rating on top 5 teams then falls off. The other 3, I stopped at 5 teams or their average scores would have been much lower.:D

The ACC will get seven teams. If you picked today, the Big East would get eight, with Cincinnatti in and Connecticutt out, but over the last four or five games of the season, the roughly sixth through twelfth place teams play mostly each other or top ten teams, so I predict that Cincinnatti will drop out and Connecticutt will get in.

UConn would get in now after their win over WV.

I think we're close. Essentially, I would put us as a 12 seed right now. we have as many as 7 games left. Each win bumps a seed. Each loss loses 2.

Correct, there is a LOT yet to be determined.

I mean seriously. Haven't we seen a couple of 14-16 and 12-18 teams in the tournament? ANY conference that has a tournament, just about ALL those teams STILL have a shot....sort of. The lower tier just have to win their tournament. It's not like it has not been done before.

There could be a George Mason lurking somewhere...hopefully Utah State!

George Mason beat UConn to get to the final four a few years ago...Mason was the 11 seed, UConn the 1 seed I think.

Sandra

Yeah and UK got beat by UCONN the game before to get to play GM.
