NCAA College Basketball 2009-10 Season

The showdown that wasn't. Kansas beats Texas 80-68. Just a couple of weeks ago this looked like it could be a 1 vs 2 matchup, and Texas might have been #1. Now they've lost 5 of their last 7, and Kansas looks like they are almost unstoppable.

I'm amazed that Syracuse has become this good.

I thought they'd take a hit witout Flynn and Devendorf, two strong contributors to last year's team.

This is the best start in their history- hard to believe that for all the great teams and players the Cuse had- Pearl Washington, Carmelo Anthony, John Wallace, Carmelo- this is their fastest start.

Watchable games tonight:

7:00 PM Tennessee-Vanderbilt ESPN
7:00 PM Illinois-Wisconsin Big Ten Network

Also, if you have ESPN Full Court or live in New England and have Comcast Sportsnet Mass, check out Vermont-Boston University at 7PM. Kid named Marqus Blakely from Vermont is a high-wire act that is fun to watch.

Enjoy!

I've got that feeling like you had in school when you went in for a test that you hadn't studied for and you knew you were going to fail.

Indeed. We always seem to have tough games with Cuse, no matter who is favored.

Should be "fun"

It is gonna be a VERY tough game...regardless of who is where in the standings. UConn and PITT is ALWAYS a thorn on the 'Cuse's side....not to mention Notre Dame.

It will be a great game.

As expected...the 'Cuse - UConn game was an absolute dog fight....with Syracuse possibly getting a lucky break. This game will help the 'Cuse later in the year.

Anders, let's be honest- they lost pretty everyone from the team that had an awesome three-year run (Hansbrough, Green, Lawson).

When you lose players like that, it's not going to be easy.

I don't buy that excuse for a second. There is enough left over to still be good. We have 10 McDonald's AA's for God's sake! Carolina should be about 18-6 right now. Instead we are 13-11. That's pathetic! dook shoots 30% for the game and beats us. WTF is that about? I've never seen such a group of underachievers and quitters in my life.

When was the last time a team who won the Championship the year prior, didn't make the NCAA Tournament the following year?

What was that lucky break?

Game tied at 65 with 40 seonds left and the 'Cuse took a shot, missed...got back the rebound and took a quick shot. Now the break was, Boeheim called a timeout on what semed like AFTER the shot left Jardine's hands....which would have resulted in UConn with the ball and a chance to win the game. The refs gave the ball BACK to the 'Cuse with 33 seconds left. Then the 'Cuse did the unthinkable....they hit their freethrows!! And won the game.
