BTW, Anders, this loss will hurt, but if you look at history, this may be a good thing.

UNC's last two national champions- 1993 and 2005- did not win the ACC Tournament.

In contrast, Tar Heel teams that win the ACC Tournament usually don't win the whole thing.

Besides, Lawson will have a bit more time to rest.

1. Lawson doesn't risk the idea of UNC playing Lawson and possibly getting hurt

2. North Carolina fares a lot better in the NCAA Tournament when they do not win the ACC Tournament. If you ask anders, winning national titles is more important than ACC tournaments

I don't know where you get the idea that the SEC was a joke in the 90's. Florida made a FF in 94, Arkansas made the FF in 94 and 95 and won it all in 94 and Mississippi St made the FF in 96 after beating Kentucky in the SEC Championship. The SEC is kind of a joke now, but it wasn't in the 90's. And it certainly was never as bad as C-USA
