NCAA Championship Week

Aztecs or Utes?

I don't know what a Ute is, so my money's on the Aztecs!:D
I think it's some sort of Indian tribe. I always laugh when I hear the word Ute though beacuse in My Cousin Vinny Joe Pesci said the two utes, he meant youths, and the judge didn't understand him. "Did you say Ute? What the heck is a Ute?"

UCLA won't die against USC!

USC didn't pull a Gonzaga- no miracle comeback.

IMO, UCLA may be the most overrated team this year- they are a 8-9 seed at best.

Ben Howland- I hate to say it, but he may be the biggest underachieving coach in this sport- flat-out gagged in two Sweet 16's with Pittsburgh, and went 0-3 in Final Fours recently.

USC pulls away from UCLA and wins, 65-55.

It looks like the Trojans might be dancing.

Meanwhile, the Bruins may have slipped to a 5-6 seed.

5?

I don't think so.

No good wins, lost their most important games, went out early- they are a 8-9 seed.

2008-09 UCLA- Most overrated team in the country!

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but trust me, they won't go lower than a 6.

I think they are a likely one-and-done team.

They're good, but... look at the body of work:

Swept by Arizona State

Lose at home to Washington State for the second time ever

Lose their only games against big-names- Michigan, Texas

Lose in Washington again- five straight years

They are one of my picks for "Team that will be overseeded," along with Florida State and Illinois

I think USC-Arizona St. has the potential be a very good game for the PAC-10 title.

The only problem is it's going head-to-head with six other championship games (including the Big XII). My remote will be getting a workout from 6:00 to 8:00!

I think Florida St. will get a 4, and IMO, they earned that.

If any ACC team gets overseeded, I think it will be Clemson. I keep seeing that they're getting a 5, and I think they should be a 7.

Clemson looks like crap lately. It's like they blew their wad in that rout over dook.

I think lots of coaches would like to have Ben Howland's resume. 3 straight FF's is no small thing and Pitt was garbage before he arrived. The other thing is Howland cleans up on talent in Southern California like he's Pete Carroll. No shortage of good players out there and he gets his fair share of them. Sometimes it takes a while for guys to finally win a NC, look at Roy Williams or Bill Self. Doesn't mean they weren't great coaches before they won it all. Howland's doing the right things.

And Howland completely rebuilt UCLA from the ashes that he inhereited. You want to talk about underachieving then look no further than Steve Lavin. Why do you think he's never gotten another coaching job?

The last game of the evening is now final:

Nevada 77, Louisiana Tech 68.

The Wolf Pack will take on Utah St. for the WAC Championship. They're the top two seeds in that tournament.

Now it's on to Super Saturday:

12 Conference Championships ALL on National TV, and the ACC, Big 10 and SEC semifinals.

It's gonna be fun!! :up

This is tough.

I have Utah State as a trendy upset pick, but the majority of teams who have a tournament final on their home court usually win.

OTOH, Nevada does not have an impact player like they had a few years ago with Fazekas, so I'll take Utah State to break the trend.
