You know St. Mary's is right squarely on the bubble and they added a game Fri against Eastern Washington. Eastern Washington who is 11-16 with an RPI of 233. I doubt St. Mary's will lose, but just playing a team that bad will drag their RPI even lower in all liklihood. Will the selection committee even care? I imagine St. Mary's will be sweating things out big time on selection Sunday.

I still don't get HOW they were able to add that game!??

They had to beat Gonzaga in order to get in. Tell now they have had the luxery of saying we lost to Gonzaga without our star player. We should have been able to beat them with him. Losing with him burst their bubble. Eastern Washington is a terrible add this year. I agree that it only puts another nail in their coffin. However, if they some how beat Eastern Washington by oh 60 or more points it might help their case.

See that's the problem. I think it hurts St. Mary's either way. If they win by 60 people will say they ran up the score on a hapless opponent. If they struggle to win, it makes them look bad too, and if they lose they're really screwed. If you were to choose between St. Mary's and, say Miami, I'd take Miami. The Canes played in tough conference, they've proven they can beat good teams and they did lose 3 games in OT. Who has St. Mary's beaten? 0-3 vs Gonzaga, a win over a mediocre Utah St team and the expected W against Eastern Washington isn't going to help things.

Which is why a school from a larger league is going to get into the ncaa tournament instead of them.

I just have one question about the adding of a game for St. Mary's. Why did they wait until conference tournament to add this game? They didnt see it from the beginning of the year that they were going to be a game short.

As far as St. Mary's goes, I think they should do what they need to do. If they have to win by a lot of pts. then be it. If its legal and ok, this is a shot for the tourney.

Believe it or not, it is legal for them to play a game even after their conference tournament provided they haven't played a certain number of games already in the regular season.

BTW, Anders, speaking of UNC and the tournament, I want to show you something involving a team you dissed last fall.

Remember all the trash-talking you did about Texas Tech.

Calling them a glorifed flag football team and asking whether they cheated?
