Exactly. Certain people dont have clue. My comments are gobblydook, yet a guy with a 3 loss team and #5 defense (stats only) seems to think FSU would have an issue with them. Anyone in the BCS would laugh either of you out of the room putting VT and FSU in the same sentence. Isnt it funny after beating Miami, they still arent ranked worth a damn? Wonder why? Because they have two horrible losses. Once again, they beat a demoralized Miami (by FSU) missing a good portion of their offense (Duke Johnson). If you can't understand the previous sentence, or dont believe it, then you are a homer or don't know much about football. Nothing I say about FSU untrue. Now, off the homers from VT and Oklahoma (calling the ACC rinkydink is a homer move), and on to some actual football facts (I know I know, some of you dont care about that).

[*]FSU lost Coker (2nd string QB) for knee surgery; they are thinking 2-3 weeks (not serious). He tweaked it playing the second half vs Wake, should be back for bowl. Puts pressure on not getting Winston hurt.
[*]
[*]Baylor has lost one of their studs Reese for the rest of the year with wrist surgery. I dont know enough about Baylor to know if this matters or not.
Seeing how stout you are with FSU, and I have no problem with it, you deserve to be seeing where you are in the ranking .... however remember it wasnt all that long ago you were no wheres near as good .....
That said, I'm hoping Bama loses, so we get to play FSU ....
Only problem with that is FSU isnt in the sec, so that game wouldn't count according to some.

I have no problem admitting when a team is not good, and excluding most of last year, the previous years were bad. Either we had a hurt starting quarterback and or just plain sucked and lost games we should have won. You know the state of the conference when Wake is the ACC champ in football! I've also openly admitted that I dont think Winston is the Heisman guy yet, and I dont think we beat Bama at this point in the game. I've been watching FSU religiously since the early 90's, and the caliber of play (especially the defense) is nothing like last year. It's one thing when you score 40 on a crap team, but our defense is playing better than they have in a long time. God love Micky Andrews, but he refused to change with the times. Stoops brought a nice change, but he gave up too many points (he also did have near the offensive support) that Pruitt is getting from that side this year either.

Now you can say Im too hard on DVR, fine, but the VT faith is just not accurate. Sure, love you team, but dont think they are something they arent. VT isnt that good, Im not sure how many different ways you need to see it for it to be true.

As far as playing Ohio St, it isnt my first choice, but I hate Urban so much I'd hope we could make his (fake) health problems come back. As much as I am not a gators fan, I lost all respect for him after that stunt.

Our problems started after Richt left (2001) and went to UGA. Bobby's nepotism and Jeff Bowden's lack of abilities slowly ran the team into the ground. Bobby also was a bad manager and did not know when to let someone go. You look after Jimbo came on as OC, we still had Andrews and other lackeys on staff. Things did not start looking up until Fisher was made HC and Stoops was brought in. Everyone else was run off. So yeah from 2001 to 2009, we werent that good most of the time. Now we have to earn that respect back.

It's like people being on Ohio State for their schedule. Sure, it aint the best one out there, but they are kicking the crap out of the teams they do play.

The other funny thing this year about the ACC, is it looks like Duke could win the division and Cutcliffe could win ACC coach of the year again. That guy is doing a lot with what he has to work with.

Jacob Coker's knee surgery went OK, he will be ready to play again by the bowl game, not before. So at this point, if Winston get's hurt FSU surely won't be in good shape at all. Good news is the second stringer is now Sean Maguire (RS Freshman), and he can get some playing time.

I still think that if Coker is as good as everyone says, he leaves next year after getting his degree and takes his 2 years of eligibility to Bama or Auburn. We will see. I dont see why he'd sit behind Winston another year.

Miami planning new practice field

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Miami is trying to get its football team a lighted practice field and other upgraded facilities.

The school will unveil what it calls the Football Victory Fund later this week. It's a $7 million project that will allow for the construction of an artificial turf practice facility, a new dining area for Miami's 400 athletes and four cold-water recovery pools that school officials say are "necessary for the hot and humid climate of South Florida."

Marshall faces his past against UGAAUBURN, Ala. -- Nick Marshall sat in the visitor’s locker room at Tennessee after the Tigers had just dismantled the Volunteers on the road. He had rushed for a career-high 214 yards with a pair of touchdowns. And yet, he was already fielding questions about next Saturday’s showdown with Georgia.

ACC upset watch: Week 12
http://espn.go.com/blog/acc/post/_/id/63175/acc-upset-watch-week-12-3

1. No. 23 Miami at Duke. The Hurricanes are free falling after losing two straight and are no longer in control of their destiny in the Coastal Division. Now they face a surging Duke team that has won five straight games. Miami has won nine straight in the series, having lost only once to the Blue Devils in school history. But this is not your typical Duke team as evidenced by the 7-2 record and recent play of the defense. While the offense has struggled to move the ball over the last several games, the defense has put together some impressive performances. As a comparison -- Duke forced four Virginia Tech turnovers in a road win over the Hokies. Miami could not even slow down what is generally an anemic Virginia Tech offense at home, giving up 549 yards. The two defenses could have not performed any differently in their respective games against Virginia Tech. For Miami, the key to winning is simple -- avoid the turnovers that cost it last week, shore up a suddenly porous defense and find some help for Stephen Morris. OK, that may be simpler said than done.

2. Georgia Tech at No. 8 Clemson. I am sure Tigers fans are thrilled to see their team back on the upset watch, but Clemson is here given recent history in the series. Georgia Tech has won eight of the last 11 meetings, including the 2009 ACC championship game, a victory that has since been vacated. The most recent Jackets win, in 2011, has not been forgotten by anybody on the Clemson roster who played in that game. Clemson went into the contest unbeaten and ranked No. 5 in the country and proceeded to lose 31-17. The Tigers exacted their revenge last year but they needed a fourth-quarter comeback to do it in a game that went back and forth until the end. Clemson is favored to win Thursday night in Death Valley, but Georgia Tech has found a rhythm of its own in its last three wins and its defense is much improved over last season, ranking No. 3 in the league in total defense. This game should have been played in Atlanta this year, but a scheduling quirk with the addition of Pitt and Syracuse has given Clemson the home-field advantage for the second straight season. This game is generally competitive, so expect the same come Thursday.

I do not see Clemson losing, but I think Duke has a shot.

Well Jimbo, Im gonna eat words here. This is a good move by Coach Meyer:

Urban Meyer: 'I can't stand that'

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State coach Urban Meyer was "very disappointed" that Evan Spencer broke one of the Buckeyes' rules about speaking in public, so it'll be a while before anybody hears from the receiver again.

Spencer on Monday said the No. 3 Buckeyes would "wipe the field with both of them" -- referring to No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 Florida State. Spencer later apologized on Twitter, stressing that he's clearly biased.

Meyer made it clear he didn't approve of the message and doesn't want it happening again.

"I'm very disappointed, I can't stand that," Meyer said during the Big Ten teleconference Tuesday. "Our players are taught [not to do that], and I know Evan well enough and I even talked to him briefly and he was kind of smiling the way he said it. But, no, I can't stand it.

"He's certainly not the spokesman for our team. As a result, Evan won't talk to the media for a long, long time. You don't do that. It's not good sportsmanship, and that's not what we expect. ... Talk about your teammates, talk about the team and move on."

Do do you think Coach Muschamp gets another year?

Muschamp, Pease feeling the pressure

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- These days the laughter doesn't ring out in the locker room quite as much, the smiles don't come as easily, and fun is something almost no one inside the Florida football program is having.

In a season of mounting losses and injuries, the bottom appeared to fall out last Saturday when the Gators were beaten handily on homecoming by Vanderbilt for the first time at home in 68 years.

With injuries and production problems mounting for Brent Pease (left), Florida's offense is on the verge of ranking 100th or worse for the fourth consecutive season.
The vitriol and questions about Florida's future have mostly been directed at the offense. After all, the UF defense is still ranked among the nation's top five.

Whatever scrutiny head coach Will Muschamp has avoided is fixed squarely on offensive coordinator Brent Pease who is feeling as much pressure as anyone on the coaching staff.

"It’s human nature to probably think about [job security]," Pease said, "but, I've still got an obligation to this team and the head coach and the players I coach and the administration that I work for."

Muschamp said after Saturday's game and reiterated on Monday that he'll consider changes to his staff after the season, as he has done in previous years.

I dont know enough to comment on Baylor/OSU vs FSU, but I think if Bama vs FSU happens, its 28-17 Bama. I think Bama D gives Winston hell, and FSU D slows down but cant stop Bama.

are you mad? lol

Hey I have no problem with anything you say but what I've said is accurate. VT isn't the best team but they are a good team that has tripped a few times, even the best runners have those tripping days. We shall see what happens if the two teams mean and if FSU wins I'll pull for them in the national title game, its just that simple.

Well, Coker is now out even for the bowl game, after the results of his surgery today. So FSU has Winston (RS Freshman), Maguire (RS Freshman), and a true Freshman they do not want to burn the redshirt to use. Lotta freshman LOL!

Discipline required to defend Auburn

ATHENS, Ga. -- Few teams in college football are more committed to moving the ball on the ground than Auburn, which suits the members of Georgia's defensive front seven just fine.

The Tigers bring the nation's third-best rushing attack (320 yards per game) into Saturday's game vs. Georgia, but defending the run is what the Bulldogs have done best this season, ranking fourth in the conference and 20th nationally in rushing defense (126 ypg).

“We are excited that we have the opportunity to, I guess you could say, flex our muscles, show who we really are,” Georgia defensive end Ray Drew said. “This is going to be one of those tell-tale games. But if we go out and do what we're supposed to, I know that the talent level that we have with myself, Sterling Bailey, Garrison Smith and those guys, the guys up front, I believe we're going to be fine. I'm confident as all get out. I don't see anything that's going to stop us other than ourselves.”

Speculation today is Muschamp gets another year, boosters are still happy with him. I gotta think some other coaches in the group get their slips though...
