You keep telling yourself VT is actually a top 5 defense. There is a reason it's ranked #5 (have you looked at your schedule and the results?).
I'll not continue to respond to the homer-ism since you can't accept reality. If your team can actually make the ACC Champ, FSU will beat them handily.

I'll have to side with DVR on this one. They both are about the same, both play(ed) Pitt, BC, Maryland and Miami. You got OOC with Clemson, Nevada, Bethune Cookman and Idaho (FSU) and Alabama, Western Carolina, East Carolina and Marshall (VaTech) The only real difference is FSU will play Florida in a few weeks and we've seen what a sinking ship that is this season. Otherwise pretty equal schedule
First, Clemson is an ACC team. Second, look at their margin of victory and ours, third and finally, lets not forget 2 of their losses. I'll let them slide on Bama because Im not sure FSU can beat Bama.
Let's use Pitt for example, they beat them 19-9, FSU wins 41-13. Now lets look at Miami, where the pts scored are basically the same for both FSU and VT, yet VT gave up 24 pts (no Duke Johnson) with their "#5 defense", yet we only gave up 14. We also held a potentially explosive Clemson offense to 14. BC gave us a pretty good fight, VT lost, then VT lost to Duke of all teams.
Send me a pack of what you guys are smoking if you think VT has a snowballs chance in hell. I'll agree that the Hokie defense would most likely be the best we've seen this year, but at the end of 60, it doesn't matter because VT is a speed bump. I can't help you with the writing on the wall, its pretty easy for me to read.

Personally I also don't think VA tech would have a chance against fsu but stranger things have happened.
I don't think VA tech has one of the top 5 defenses in the nation, but if the stats say they are then so be it. I know schedule plays a part in that.

Correct, scheduling is a big part and they did hold Alabama to just about 200 total yards (96 of that was rushing - the lowest since 2011 against LSU in that snooze field goal game). Not really going to say anything about homer-ism as it is what it is but I'm also not going to defend a team that shouldn't have lost to Duke or Boston College but stranger things have happened for sure.
Either way I guess we will have to wait till December to see who matches up against who and the results. I think FSU is a hell of a team but anything can happen and that is why you play the game and yes I think VT would pair up very well against FSU on a neutral site such as that for the ACC title game.
Yep they played well against bama, even if they still would have lost had nothing but offensive points been counted.
That said, having watched bama all season, the offense in the first game is not the same that is playing now. It is much improved.

Does Auburn really have a good chance to beat Bama ?
The espn guys doing the BSC show is saying that a 1 loss sec would pass up all the others to make the championship game (with Bama losing a game).
They are suggesting that IF Auburn beats Bama and Missouri beats Auburn, that Missouri would pass all the others to 2nd place.

So it sounds like it's a beauty contest, had the Buckeyes beat the teams earlier in the year by 30 or 40 instead of 10-20 they would be ranked higher and probably still be in the top 2.

It's called "Style Points", the computer programmers are banned from using margin of victory in their equations, but unfortunately it's hard to stop human pollsters from seeing them.
The officiating in the LSU / Bama game was just wrong. SEC officiating is not anywhere as bad as what the Big Least officiating has been. Horrid officiating is what really caused all the teams to jump from the Big Least.

Agreed. Saban will be ready for Auburn, and anyone else he faces, and that includes the SECCG and BCSCG. As much as I hate to admit it, he has his team high above anyone in the SEC, or NCAA for that matter.
The rest of you should stop worrying and fooling yourselves. Be content to see your team face a quality opponent in the Rose, Orange or Sugar Bowls with a chance for a victory. Don't hope for your team to get their asses handed to them by Saban. It doesn't feel good, believe me.
You should be mad at the rest of your conference. Because frankly outside of maybe MSU, they suck and are holding you back in the BCS. I told you from the beginning that Urban was going to coach circles around the rest of those clowns in the big 10.
I'm sure for you and the rest of the OSU fans it's going to be nice to beat the crap out of UM at the end of the year, but it does you no good if they are terrible like they are now.
Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Urban vs Saban again.
