NCAA 2013 Football Season

I just dont think you quite understand the situation. A little bit of that tip is from your statement that losing a RB is what recruiting is for. It was well known that Miami's QB is not that good, even their fans think he sucks. Duke Johnson was the star of the offense and that was also well known (backup RB is OK). While VT may not have as good a running game, the QB is no slouch. Without Duke Johnson, Miami is hampered. Is it a good win for VT? Sure. But dont mistake that their score or yardage this week has any bearing on what FSU did last week.

Im worried about two things right now:

Injuries in a tough UF game

If we end up having the privilege of Bama in the NC game, well, thats worry enough. Bama is great making second half adjustments, but so is FSU. Our defense is on right now, Pruitt is really dropping the boom, but the offense is not where Id like to see it. Vs Bama, thats an issue because they too have a quality defense. I think Winston, no matter how much everyone has propped him up on a pedestal, is still a Freshman. Thats a mark against us. While he will pretty much handle every other team we have left, he will have not faced something like Saban's team.

Bama of course still has two tough tests left, so I agree there is a lot of football left. That being said, as each week passes and the schedule becomes soft for FSU, most people are not expecting FSU to lose (including me), which I dont see as being a homer, its just not hard to see. Any chance that I thought UF would beat us was extinguished this weekend. Rivalry games are always tough, but what you have this year is, Miami does not quite yet have the talent to match FSU (they have been hurt by the lingering sanction), but they are getting better. UF has some talent, but their offense sucks and they have lots of injuries. So even though both are rivalries, I compare them to the last two years of the iron bowl where Bama flat stomped Auburn. While its a rivalry game, Bama just had the talent and coaching, where Auburn did not (this year will be different). At the end of the day, the "rivalry" only evens the game so much. I honestly would not be surprised if Auburn wins, but I dont have a dog in that hunt. All I see right now is Syracuse, I care about nothing else. One week, one game.

To be honest its a down year for a lot of ACC teams. Im not trying to be an ass but honestly the writing is on the wall, barring injury FSU does not lose until NC game. The opponents left are weaker than they should be. Now I do see an easy possibility of a loss in NC game, especially if FSU has to play Bama. Im not sure the offense can handle that D.

IIRC, it should have been a 5 yard penalty and re-kick, not what was done??????

I agree and no thats not what they did.

They accepted the penalty and they added yardage after the play was over.

By no means did this change the outcome, but it was an error as far as I know on the officials account.

What happens if the kick returner returned it to the 4 yard line, do they give them a TD ?

I'm not at all worried about VT. We also gave you a gift in the fact we demoralized them last week and broke their starting running back. Add in a rain game and strange things happen.

Your welcome.

VT also gave up 24 pts to a broken Miami team, how many do you think FSU scores? VT lost to Duke and BC, and barely beat Pitt. FSU gave up 10 less pts to a Miami with Duke Johnson. Lets not even discuss how we trashed Pitt, and you only beat Carolina by 5.

VT vs FSU, we score 40+, you might get 17. I want to play VT because we havent beat them yet this year, not because I think itll be tough. I want everyone around the ACC to realize that FSU is back, and Im proud of them.

Man, you guys better CRUSH them then.

Remember what you ask for here, a top 5 defense in VT climbing back up that is likely to meet FSU in the ACC title game. VT and its hot/cold offense just hammered Miami with more yards than FSU was able to do this year including hold them to only 26 yards rushing, the lowest total since when they played FSU last year of 28. If the VT team that showed up last night shows up in the ACC title game FSU will have its hands full.

"Likely to meet FSU in the ACC title"...your self professed "up and down" team would have to win out...consistency is something they haven't showed.

Let's let the season play out.

True, could just as easily be Miami again. Ill admit it makes me nervouse when teams play twice, its doesnt always favor the team that won the first time. I do not know if its a mental thing or what.

Well...Miami, if they play again, does not have the horses this year to compete with FSU.

Well, the unfortunate and lucky thing (I hate to see someone hurt), is the loss of Duke. It hurts their offense and puts most of the pressure on the QB.

A same type play happened yesterday in the FLA game. it took the officials what seemed like 2-3 mins to come to a decision. The annoucers were not sure what the debate was about as we watched the officials talk. Then when they came back they said it was a penalty and they gave the 5 yards and had to rekick from the new spot. The announcers were as confused as the rest of us as to why that was such a hard thing to figure out.

I did not know about Dorsett. Its hard to keep up with all the players. Lotta "good" teams trashed by injuries. One reason I understand playing second stringers in the second half if you feel you have it under control. It used to irk me, but they arent there to make me happy lol, they are there to win games and keep these young guys healthy.

I still dont get the FSU player dropping the ball before getting into the endzone yesterday, and the refs basically saying "yeah we saw it, not too worried about it".

Except they didn't rekick in the Bama/LSU game ...

Unless the rules changed recently, this was wrong.

Is it different between College and the Pro's ?

FSU's Uplifting Athletes Chapter Announces TD Drive Fans can pledge an amount for each TD scored or give a flat rate donation to fund research for Fanconi anemia E-Mail floridastate@upliftingathletes.org to pledge TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State's Uplifting Athletes chapter announced a Touchdown Drive to fundraise for research for Fanconi anemia on Wednesday for the Seminoles' game against Syracuse on Nov. 16. Fans can email their pledge to floridastate@upliftingathletes.org simply by saying how much they are pledging per touchdown scored against the Orange on November 16th. All proceeds will go towards support of research for Fanconi anemia. "We are happy to announce our Touchdown Drive for our game against Syracuse on Nov. 16," said Kevin Haplea, founder of the FSU chapter of Uplifting Athletes. "We hope that all Seminole fans make a pledge or flat rate donation so that each touchdown we score on the football field can make a difference off of it." An example pledge could be $5, and if the Seminoles score three touchdowns, then you would fulfill your pledge by making a $15 donation after the game. Flat rate donations can be made any time leading up to or after the game. Fans can also make a flat rate donation now. The donation web site is already live, is easy to use and can be accessed HERE.
