. Nothing to do with growing up its about being a "Family" which means you do things with what the others enjoy but that is a full year thing so I have football, she has other things, and my kid has things that all get done at some point or enjoyed.
I agree. While obviously I like to "talk big" as a sports fan, my family comes first.
That said, it's a two way street, and they understand that. There is very little that I ask.
Planned events that don't conflict with football are one of those few.
For instance. My wife gave me two choices on what Saturday to have my kids birthday party. I pulled up the calendar looked, and saw that one was the day of the sec championship game. I picked the other. Now, I get two special days with my daughter, as she loves watching Bama football with me. It's our "thing" this time of year.
So we will do that one Saturday and her party the next. (yep, I am already planning on us being there )
However if it had to conflict, I'd deal with it. It's my kid.
