I understand you are mostly joking but, tell me which Big Ten state it gets that cold before thanksgiving in where it would really effect a game? I mean its still in the 70s the last game of the season for you guys...

It's not the cold so much. The northern teams don't play well in warm (relative) weather, which is why bowl regional placement is unfair. (an actual argument used here before)

Ya I mean clearly when playing in perfect weather one team is at a disadvantage ;)

Well they aren't used to it. It explains a lot.

Where is it in the 70's? Its close to 60 by the 2nd week of November in Oklahoma and we are further south and west than the Big 10 schools. You might get 1 or 2 days warmer but usually the temps are in the mid 50's rising to 60 during the day with temps in the 40's at night. Perfect football weather in my opinion.

edit: I would just like to see some parity and diversity in the game sites. Tired of everything always having to be in the south. Sponsors and espn commercial time are the only thing keeping some of these bowls afloat. 3 games at the same stadium, in a couple of weeks with no real attendance at some of these sites is ridiculous.

The lows here this week have been in the mid 40's already.

Lows here in the deep south are in the mid to high 50s this week and next.

Fact is, the difference makes no (difference) at the moderate temps we are talking about.

Now if it were freezing, and not just 30s, then yeah, maybe. Same could be said for the triple digit or high 90s many southern teams deal with in some seasons (early)

Hell, give me 40. I beg for it.

As for the bowls and where they are played.

I'd be open to them being spread out, but if you are playing outdoors in January or late December, I get it. It's business.

There would be empty seats no matter where you staged many of these subpar bowl match ups.

I think we can all agree it has more to do with Money than anything else. I mean really aside from an NFL game, there are not many college bowls people would be willing to travel to Green bay for during a snow storm in Jan... Now Itd be a fun game to watch on TV.. But that stadium is not getting full.

A MAJOR Bowl game would ...

As mentioned, the non major games would struggle, but they struggle in warm climates already.
Look how often all then Non Major games only fill half the stands and Schools claim losing money going to the bowl games because of ticket sales.

Who picked these fugly helmets for the Pokes today? Looks like a black dot on the white helmet, cant even tell that its Pistol Pete. Why does everyone keep screwing up the great traditional looks of some of these schools?

These targeting calls are over done. I thought it was clear that the south Carolina player led with his shoulder.

And another targeting player disqualification is reversed, so he stays in, but the penalty still stands and they gain 15 yards.

They need to change that. If they say in review that there was no targeting and therefor no personal foul, then there is in reality no penalty.

I agree with that. I like them taking closer looks at some of these hits, but I don't agree with penalizing a team if it is overturned

Exactly. They took a great hit and pass breakup, which is a loss of down and turned it into a 15 yard gain and a fresh set of downs.

The hit. Obvious shoulder lead.

Somewhat better view. I was concerned about this when officials were stating that Clowny's big hit last year would be considered targeting this year. I understand that they want to make the game safer for the players, but it is a contact sport guys.

What a game this is. The curse is back!:D
