Ohh no VT goes to many away fields, Nebraska did a home/home play, LSU didn't they went down there back in 2007 although LSU was up in Blacksburg in early 2000's but still it should be more teams doing this cross conference. The good thing is all that changes with VT starting next year, Ohio State up there then back in Blacksburg for opening Labor Day night prime time play and then the rest of OSU's conference teams are falling right in line from then on out.

What is tech's incoming revenue compared to bama?
That's what I thought:)
With 9 SEC game schedule on the way it will be stupid to schedule home and home.
It's NOTHING to do about scared. It's ALL about the $. Nothing more. Nothing less.

So you give me two since the early 2000s?

We've done Oklahoma, Ucla, and Penn state since then. That's six years out of the 13 since 2000.
Edit: we also had a home and home (played them there twice and they came here once ) with Hawaii. So add to that.
Out of the other ones not at home two were against VA tech. So we have played them more off campus in that time frame than any other school.

Tell me again how it's different.

I just don't like how last two times money has trumped the home/home series that Alabama and VT could have and should have done. I had a big time Alabama fan sit with me eating lunch down at that game and the guy was really wanting to come up to Blacksburg for a game one time, I looked at him and laughed since that would never happen. Well OSU is coming along with many other teams in that Conference so that should be some fun years ahead.

Yep, our darker recent period. We didn't fair well in many of those.

Hey, I'd prefer, as a fan, a home and home too.

I understand why it doesn't happen sometimes though.

I just found it humorous that you called us out for not having big home and home matches when yall have done it less, and on out of conference neutral site games we have played yall more than anyone else.

OSU has been doing home and home series alot the past 10 years and more in the next 10.

So, Why did Bama pull out of the series with the Big Ten/ Michigan State ?

I would love to see Minneapolis win this bid.

Minneapolis all in for 2017 College Football Playoff bid

http://www.cbssports.com/collegefoo...-all-in-for-2017-college-football-playoff-bid

Minneapolis will submit a bid for the 2017 College Football Championship Game and is ready to put significant money behind that commitment, Vikings vice president of stadium development Lester Bagley told CBSSports.com.

The Vikings, who will open Vikings Stadium in 2016 with help from the state, would expect a $90 million economic impact from a title game and will invest $10 million or more “to get that type of return,” Bagley said.

Actually, I was serious about wanting to know why they pulled out ...

Ok, I found my answer ...

They pulled out "IN CASE the SEC goes to 9 games in conference those years ..."

OK, what if they stay the way they are and don't add the 9th game, do they then re schedule MSU or find an easy team to fill the open slot ?

Well VT took care of business with taking down GT, damn that defense looked awesome and the offense finally sparked.

I really miss that at home Thursday night game, VT's athletic director sucks for not setting that.

What cold weather? It is rarely that cold in September or October.

It is that and money. As much as fans like to watch those games, and I'd MUCH rather them keep that game and ditch one of the sure to be scheduled lesser teams, fact is giving up a home game costs money.

If they go to a 9 game sec schedule that puts them in the position to possibly lose two home games that season.

That's a ton of money.

So while I'm not happy about it, I do understand it.

They already know they are going to 9 games, Its just bound to happen. Other teams have also been shifting things to make room, They know its coming just can not announce it yet.
