Ahhh.. it's not Jerry's world anymore, It's At&t field ( is that really what they recalled it ?) I can't believe Jerry let the naming rights get away. Just goes to show that Jerry is ALL ABOUT THE MONEY ...
i think it was a smart move for Jerry. I bet AT&T is paying a fortune just to have their name on it. Just another example of why the cowboys are the most valuable sports team. FYI it's a business and those not about the money will sooner or later fold or fail.

?

I guess I needs to be more up to date on the conference thingy

So I see this "American" conference......so I figure its a new name for Conference USA...nope they still exist

So the teams in the "former" Big East (last year) combined with some C-USA teams and are in the American conference yet the rest of the teams are in the "New Big East" yet they dont play football? I guess they are the "Catholic 7" and they grabbed a few more teams?

Good lord I thought the college hockey transformation was hard to follow

135 yard of offense and up 35-10. If Christian Jones isn't the player of the week they should quit playing college football. A punt return for a td. A kickoff return for a td. A reception for a td.

He was certainly impressive to watch but VT's special teams was horrible too so that helped. I tell ya our Defense is top notch! Held Bama to 96 yards rushing yards the lowest they've had since 2011 by LSU. Alabama was getting beat up front by both VT's defensive line and offensive line - I was really impressed. If it wasn't for some busted coverage on special teams and the pick6 from that dropped route we would have had a very close game. The stats in this game spoke big time for how good VT's defense is and how good it can be down the road providing they fix the special teams. I have to hand it to bama for taking whatever they got and doing something with it so congrats for them on that win and their fans that I talked to were pretty cool too so nice atmosphere to be in.

I expect to see VT end up with a top 5 defense at the end of the year and if they can adjust the special team coverage we got ourselves a damn good team!

Ohh and here was the view from my seat in the game :D

American- Old Big East football schools plus a few C-USA
New Big East- Old Big East non-football schools plus a couple others

Ya, they seem to have more money than God, until it comes to paying thier employees ... mind you were paid well, but they ended OT about 2 months earlier this year than most and cut back on all ordering, this typically happens in Nov., not August.

As for the Boys being the most Valuable team .... too bad the most Valuable isn't the best .... :(

Hmmm, I forgot all about all that shuffling, theres an American Conference now ?

Are there any Non American Conferences ?

Anyone catch Lou Holtz this weekend when they asked him about Johnny Manzell, looked like he was being awoken from a nap, just kind of babbled

I was just looking thru some of the NCAA Football games for this weekend, found Ohio State, Michigan, ND, LSU ...

No Bama ???

What the heck, they play one game and need a week off ?

SEC teams tend to schedule their open dates a week before their toughest games. It's BS I know, but it puts a burden on the better teams in the conference because most of their opponents have had a week to get healthy before they play them.

The only issue I have with it is that its week two, and I have no Bama football! Lol, otherwise, they have to be off sometime I guess, so when they take it or who follows makes little difference. In this case, it could be a bad thing, might be better for that lackluster offensive line to have another tune up game.

I do remember in either 09 or 10 Bama had five or six teams that season that had open dates before we played them. After that scheduling nightmare, I think we have earned a mulligan or two where this is concerned.

Looks like my Hawks are off to a rough start this year. Lost to a pretty good NIU team though. Damn was that game HOT!

Have to have time off sometime ?

Why ?

Why can't teams play 12 weeks in a row ?

Most teams have done that for years, thats why the Big Ten ends thier season the week before Thanksgiving (previously) ... thus the SEC takes a few weeks off each year and end thier season 2-3 weeks before the championship game ... thats a HUGE advantage in the over all scheme of things.

Oregon didn't play anyone last week and passed Ohio State in the polls ?

Buffalo would probably crush Nicholls State ....

So, if OSU wins big this week, I expect them to pass Oregon back.

Btw, ain't gonna happen.

Hey, most all conferences have bye weeks. Unless I read you wrong, and until this post, I assumed all did. Does the big 10 not do this anymore?

If the Big 10 doesn't, and it places them at a disadvantage in the end, take it up with your commissioner. It's not like they all don't play the same number of games, if your conference is scheduling to their disadvantage then that doesn't seem very smart from a competitive standpoint to me.

As it is though, this bye week is giving Bama no advantage, and imo is a disadvantage coming into one of the biggest games on the schedule at the beginning of the year. I'd much rather have a couple of tune up games to gel before such a match up.

The Big Ten is FINALLY allowing a week off during the season, I think it started a few years ago now, at least last year I know for sure ... that said, prior to the recent change, they played thier games consecutively ...consequently they were done with thier season WAY before the other conferences ... I think this was a huge disadvantage when the others were playing till the middle of Dec and a few weeks later play thier bowl game while the Big Ten would have 45-50 days between thier last game and a bowl game.
