NBA Basketball 2009-10 Season

the biggest joke ever is the player of the decade as voted by the fans on TNT. The fact that Shaq is behind LeBron is a JOKE. The fact Kobe won it over Shaq and Duncan in a BLOWOUT is a JOKE! The fact that Shaq didn't win, PERIOD, is a JOKE! The fact that it wasn't a competition between Duncan(4 rings, dominant) and Shaq(4 rings, DOMINANT!), is a JOKE!
Fans are stupid. They voted Allen Iverson on to the All Star Team.

Um..... WOW!

Sunday's NBA All-Star Game drew a crowd of 108,713 fans at Cowboys Stadium to set a new basketball record.

Basketball record 108,713 watch All-Star Game - ESPN Dallas

This is the start of a trend. EVERY SINGLE NBA city that has a domed football stadium with will partner up with that NFL owner and they will do the same.

DO NOT be surprised that with the NHL "winter classic"....was not watching to do the same thing for their all-star game......;)

That's Amare'?!

Talks are indeed heating up between the Cavs and Amar'e Stoudemire. All signs point to him becoming a Cav before Thursday's deadline. This much is certain: the next 4 days will be very interesting....

ARLINGTON, Tex. -- LeBron James and Amar'e Stoudemire purposely were avoiding specifics late Sunday night, but there's little doubt they are already thinking about playing with one another.

While multiple league sources indicated there are other suitors for the Suns' talented big man, signs continue to grow that Stoudemire will be moved and that the Cavs are the leading candidate to land him.

Great NBA All Star Game- fun game with a dramatic ending.

The game MVP was D-Wade (Hopefully for Salsa, this lessens some of the sting from Syracuse losing)

Everything Wade did yesterday was spectacular....ALL of his passing and shooting were highlight reels and rumors of his "dead play" were greatly exaggerated(me being guilty of that....).

And do not think that for ONE MOMENT that Pat Reilly was not dreaming of a team consisting of Wade and Lebron here in Miami. I was watching the 1st half at a local sports bar and that is ALL that was being talk about....EVERYONE was also VERY realistic of stating the chance are slime and none...with Slim starting the car....but there catchy slogan down here for the Florida lottery...."you have NO CHANCE in winning if you don't play"....and don't think for one second that Reilly isn't gonna play!

....**crossing, fingers, toes, arms and legs for this one**.....:o:p;)

...SLOW DOWN TEX.....

However, according to sources, Philadelphia's Andre Iguodala, appears to be the Suns' top choice.

So far, the Sixers have been leery of giving up their best player for Stoudemire.

While Stoudemire has good relationships with LeBron James and Shaquille O'Neal, some close to Stoudemire believe Miami -- where he lives during the summer -- is his first choice.

Miami has pursued Stoudemire hard but has no one on its roster (besides Dwyane Wade) that interests Phoenix, according to sources. That includes Michael Beasley. So it would take a three-team deal for Stoudemire to be traded to the Heat.

Of course, Cleveland can also pursue three-team deals that would sweeten the offer for Phoenix.

Sources: Others up ante in bidding for Phoenix Suns forward Amare Stoudemire - ESPN

ONE THING is for sure...IF he goes to Philly....he will opt out and be a free agent for next year. IF he goes to Cleveland....there is NO DOUBT Lebron will stay. Same could be said about IF he comes to Miami and Wade.

All I know is, from years past...when we get close to trade dead line...once the 1st trade happens....it will be a flurry of trades after that.

If Amar'e wants to go to a non-contender just because he "owns a house" there, then we don't want him anyways. The whole idea is to bring someone in to compete for a Championship. If he's in it to win it, he'll chose Cleveland. If he wants sand and sunny beaches, he'll chose Miami.

...LMAO...and YOU do not think that by adding Amare does not make Miami go from an 7th or 8th seed to an instant contender??!! Really?! LOL!

OK....if you say so.

Maybe, maybe not.

LeBron's team already has the best record in the league without Amar'e. With him, and if he meshes, it's scary what the team may be capable of.

Wade's team on the other hand is fighting for a #8 seed without Amar'e. With him, they will be better, just based on the talent increase alone, but nothing's guaranteed. He's been pared with another superior guard in Steve Nash for a while and that hasn't exactly produced any Championships.

YOU of all people know....records during the regular season mean NOTHING!! Ask Dallas Mavericks and last years Cavs.

And by the way...Nash is ONLY a scorer IF needed...not the norm and not HIS game. Wade on the hand IS a score that can distribute. A Lebron light.

There isn't a single professional analyst or armchair analyst that would deny that IF the HEAT were to get Amare WITHOUT losing Beasly, they would be a contender instantly.

I have never bought into the notion that every player should scramble, hat in hand, to the team with the most other good players on it to get himself the best chance of winning another championship. Leagues have 30 to 32 professional teams for which players can ply their trades. They are being paid big money to make a team better, and they can contribute more to teams than need them to play rather than to teams who want them to be icing on the cake.

The Cavs don't need to make a trade. Amare is a gifted offensive player, no doubt, but I don't want to risk harming the chemistry/flow of the team. Too risky IMO.

Part of the deciding factor in making this trade is for Amar'e to renegotiate his contract so he would be committed to the Cavs for longer than just this year. If so, that would form a pretty solid core to persuade LeBron to stay past this year.

Z and Shaq are as good as gone after this year anyways. If we don't trade one, they will leave next year without getting anything in return.

I agree with you on the chemistry part of it though. Bringing Amar'e in would be a huge adjustment. Very risky move IMO.

With Shaq ALREADY on the team....that locker room would have already been ruined. Believe me...the "chemstry" on the team is fine.

Chemistry is overrated. WINNING cures all woes. An if you really believe in that stuff....do you HONESTLY think that Lebron would let someone f**-up his locker room? Really??

EDIT: AND by being afraid of how "chemistry" MIGHT change, you are under valuing Lebron and Shaq's influence in the locker room.....

I'm not talking about "locker room chemistry" as if Amar'e is a bad character. I'm talking about the "on-the-court chemistry" that would be interrupted. Ie: the ebb and flow of a game built by the comfort factor each player has developed for one another. Bring in anybody and that will change in some way.

You ever hear the term: If it ain't broke, don't fix it?

the Cavs still need to improve to win a title

Haven't we done that with the additions of Shaq, Jamario Moon, Anthony Parker and Danny Green? Not to mention the improvement of JJ Hickson and the possible contributions of Leon Powe who hasn't even seen the floor yet.

No, because a team can never improve too much. I am still not too convinced that the Cavs can beat Orlando or Boston in a 7 game series. Something you have to remember about these teams that have made deep playoff runs, is that they know how to weather the storm of an NBA season, whereas the Cavs are focusing really hard on winning in the regular season.

Winter Olympics Puts Chill Into NBA All-Star Game Ratings

Sunday's NBA All-Star Game drew a 3.8 U.S. rating and 6.9 million viewers on TNT, according to Nielsen fast-national ratings, down 16% in ratings and 9% in viewership from last year (4.5, 7.6 mil), but flat in ratings and up 10% in viewership from 2008 (3.8, 6.3 mil).

Sunday's game is tied with the aforementioned 2008 game as the lowest rated NBA All-Star Game ever. Additionally, the 6.9 million viewers is the third-lowest for the NBA All-Star Game since at least '90, ahead of the 2008 and 2007 games.

The All-Star Game aired directly opposite the Winter Olympics on NBC, which drew a 14.3 rating and 26.4 million viewers on Sunday night. The 2006 All-Star Game, which also aired opposite the Winter Olympics, drew a 4.3 U.S. rating and 7.1 million viewers.

To put the numbers in perspective, the NBA All-Star Game finished well behind the 2010 Pro Bowl on ESPN (7.1, 12.3 mil) and the 2009 MLB All-Star Game on FOX (8.9, 14.6 mil), but comfortably ahead of the 2009 NASCAR All-Star Race on Speed (2.4, 4.2 mil) and the 2009 NHL All-Star Game on Versus (0.6, 1.1 mil).
