On his weekly segment on 790 The Ticket on Thursday, team president David Samson said the Marlins didn't have much on the front burner. He went so far as to suggest teams may be loath to do business with President of Baseball Operations Larry Beinfest and company.
"I don't think people want to deal with us anymore," Samson said on the Dan Le Batard show. "We have a low payroll, we win games, and I think people are afraid of getting burned, maybe."
Samson later added: "Our team feels it can [win] as is. We'd like to bring in reinforcements, but we don't want to be one of those teams that causes themselves to not win 81 games by making foolish deals."
