MLB Trades and Rumors

Well, I never thought I'd say this- there is an organization in sports worse than the Lions or Clippers.

I hope your not talking about the Pirates, K.C. and Washington are worse, hell the Indians are just as bad.

Yes we had bad management before this management group and they didn't know how to run a small market team. We don't need to pay a washed up player multimillions just to see him fail. Invest the money in the minors and the D.R. for the future.

It doesn't bother me, Wilson and Sanchez was gonna be gone at the end of the season anyway, so might as well get some good young players for them.

The Pirates wasn't winning with them, so it doesn't matter if they lose without them.

They will be better, that first baseman they got for wilson is a very good prospect, add McCutchin, Alvarez, Milage, hernandez and other people in the minors and all the pitchers they got, two years they will be better.

This makes what? The 15th year you have said that now. ;) :D

17th. :D

How long has it been since the Reds had a winning season? I'm just curious, it seems since the Reds and Pirates had their run in the early 90's they've been battling for last place.

Seriously makes you wonder how teams like the Marlins, Rays, Twins, etc., can be so competitive, and other teams like the Oakland Anabolics and the Braves can have their moments too. But franchises like the Pirates and Royals just can't figure it out.

The Pirates are beginning to figure it out, trust me. Build up the farm system and invest in the D.R. instead of paying washed up players and free agents you can't afford tons of money. They are taking a page from the Marlins.

2000 Thank you very much. :D

Wow, has it been that long *sigh*. :(

Latest rumor is that the Dodgers are close to getting Halladay. Two possible deals:

  1. Billingsley OR Kershaw with a couple of prospects
  2. Five top prospects only

Do you like this? Those two boys are surefire future superstars and perhaps more.
That is why I would prefer option #2. I do not want to see them lose Kershaw or Billingsley.

Anyway, how much will Halladay help if they give up one ace for another? Torre will still only allow Halladay to pitch 7 innings anyway.

Seattle GM's view on the trade:

Great pick-up for the Dodgers....Sherrill will go to the set-up role and strengthen a Dodgers bullpen in need of some relief the way Torre is managing it.

That has what I have been saying. Torre is a good manager, but he does not know how to manage the pitching too well.

I believe that the GM of the Blue Jays has said that the Halliday trade talks are dead for right now. I mean, to me, for what the Red Sox, Yankees, Dodgers, Mets (dont know if its true, but I think it is), Phillies etc. were asking for Halliday, you mean they couldnt find a taker? The deals were that bad??

I thought the Red Sox offer was the best out there.

When the Tigers inquired about him the Jays wanted Porcello AND Ryan Perry and a prospect , Mr. Dombrowski quickly passed .....

Again, someone I had hoped that the Tigers would have went for ....

I have a feeling that the Tigers are going to stand pat and fall from the top soon.

They have suspect Bullpen and I don't trust the closer to do anything other than imitate Todd Jones.
They have an offense that is hit and miss, it's either great and they score alot of runs, like last night , or it's non existant and scores a run or two, not enough to win.

They NEED to do something.

Quite picking on the pitching, we're still near the top of the pack, pitching-wise. Hitting is sporadic at best. At least we're still in charge of the division, and the schedule favors us also.
