MLB POST SEASON 2010

I dunno.

IMO, the Reds have that "team of destiny" look about them, that we could be talking about in hindsight. I'm picking the Phillies in this series (I think they're the best team in ALL of baseball), but I wouldn't be surprised by a Reds upset.

OTOH, I don't get that feeling from the Braves, and I think the Giants pitching will wipe them out in four games max.
Especially since Hudson and Lowe have not been doing so great of late

It sucks that the Reds play a 5pm game. I will miss the first few innings.

Only 3 teams from last year's playoffs are back this year- Twins, Yankees, Phillies.

5 new teams this year (Rays, Rangers, Reds, Giants, Braves) replacing 5 teams from last year (Red Sox, Angels, Cardinals, Rockies, and Dodgers)

I would hate to be on the east coast. I could not imagine having to wait until 9:30 at night watch a game. 6:30 is too late for a playoff game.

I remember in 2003, game 1 of the Red Sox-A's ALDS started at 11:07pm ET. It didn't end until close to 4:00am ET (A's won on a walk-off suicide squeeze in extra innings).

Only advantage is it is NOT the EAST coast team playing that late.

Still don't like it starting that late.
Whats worse was when games were starting after 10 like it has in previous years, I think 1 series was even starting at 11:05

Considering how strong they played until their late-August nosedive, did the Padres choke?
Probably. We prefer to believe that they were overachieving up until August. Considering the talent the Padres have, 2nd place in the NL West is a pretty good finish. And they still have a winning record against the Giants this year. All that being said, moral victories don't count in the standings.

I see the Padres selling off some big salaries in the off-season.

Adrian Gonzalas to the Red Sox ?

I hope, but I doubt it.
This has been waiting to happen for several years now.

I got the Rays winning the east. I didn't predict anything else. But my predictions.

Rays beat Texas
Twins beat Yankees
Reds beat the Phillie's
Giants over Atlanta

That's as far as I'll go for now.

Phillies over Reds in 5- the Cincy lumber is scary, but I think it comes down to pitching.

Giants over Braves in 5- Again, pitching will be key.

Twins over Yankees in 4- Other than Sabathia, the New York pitching has been shaky at times.

Rangers over Rays in 4- Upset special. Texas pitching is better than you think.
