MLB POST SEASON 2010

This will be the first time the Rangers do not play the Yankees in the postseason.

They made the playoffs in 1996, 1998, and 1999- and faced the Bronx Bombers each time.

From:ESPNcom

New York was 66-37 at the start of play on Aug. 1, but went just 29-30 the rest of the way. It was just the second time the Yankees led through games of Labor Day and failed to finish first, according to STATS LLC. The others were in 1906 and 1944.

One and one and one is three.

so the Twins and Yankees start Wednesday night at the Big Bullseye

I'm thinking Wednesday's schedule will look something like this (give or take a half hour on the start times):

Texas @ Tampa Bay- 1:30pm ET
TBD @ Philadelphia- 5:00pm ET
New York @ Minnesota- 8:30pm ET

The Reds announced Edinson Volquez, Bronson Arroyo and Johnny Cueto will pitch games 1, 2 and 3 of the LDS.

yeah I heard yesterday on the news that if the Twins had played Tampa they would start in the day and if it was NY it would be a night game

Giants up 3-0........bottom of 8th.

It looks like the Reds can pack their bags for Philly, and the Braves for SF.

Yep..

Looks like the stupid friggen Giants :rant:will win the West and the Braves win the WC.

Giants should easily take the slumping and limping Braves in the first round

Cincinnati @ Philadelphia- 5:00pm ET

Indeed, this is the TENTATIVE schedule for Wednesday.

Thursday's tentative schedule (per NESN):

Texas @ Tampa Bay- 2:30pm ET
New York @ Minnesota- 6:00pm ET
Atlanta @ San Francisco- 9:30pm ET

I thought most people would have Cincy/Philly as the biggest mismatch.

I dunno.

IMO, the Reds have that "team of destiny" look about them that we could be talking about in hindsight. I'm picking the Phillies in this series (I think they're the best team in ALL of baseball), but I wouldn't be surprised by a Reds upset.

OTOH, I don't get that feeling from the Braves, and I think the Giants pitching will wipe them out in four games max.
