MLB POST SEASON 2010

Phillies over Reds in 5- the Cincy lumber is scary, but I think it comes down to pitching.

Giants over Braves in 5- Again, pitching will be key.

Twins over Yankees in 4- Other than Sabathia, the New York pitching has been shaky at times.

Rangers over Rays in 4- Upset special. Texas pitching is better than you think.

Thought you didn't like DEFENSE, you took ALL the teams with the BEST Pitching.

What happened to your All Offense All the time approach ?

That's fine, all you pick the Reds to lose and they will surprise.

I don't think too many series will go all 5 or even 4. The last few years, many of them ended in 3 or 4 games

I would have picked them if they faced Atlanta or San Fran.
The first round matchups are key. If SD got the WC, then the Reds would play SF. This is why I think the best record should play the worst record, period. It should not matter if they happen to come out of the same division. The Phils have the best record and should earn the right to play the team with the worst, Atlanta. Now because of it, another team that did better than the Braves has the misfortune of playing the best team in the NL in the first round because of this stupid no intradivision rule

I agree.
This is a dumb rule.
Must have been thought up by Cousin Bud, I mean Commish Bud.

Yes that is a stupid rule. It isn't fair.

Here is my take...

1. Most five game series are absolute toss-ups. The better teams tend to win seven game series, but five game series are a completely different animal. One good pitching performance or one big hit can put you squarely in the driver's seat.

2. The Twins have to beat the Yankees SOMETIME...don't they? I mean, the level of domination since 2002 against a very good team is almost unheard of. The Yankees are 54-18 against the Twins since then...crazy. The law of averages says the Twinkies are due.

3. The question is, will the Yankees get enough pitching to support their hitting?

4. Another question is, will the Phillies get enough hitting to support their pitching? If they hit like they did for a good part of the summer, their pitching better be spectacular. That said, I'm rooting for the Reds...because of Ramy, because I want the Phillies out should the Yankees reach the World Series, and because the Reds are a VERY easy team to root for.

5. Cliff Lee is going to be a nice #2 starter next year. ;)

6. Post season baseball in San Francisco...gotta love it. They BEAT LA!!!

7. When that series returns to Atlanta, will anyone be there to watch?

8. Not the same without the Red Sox in the playoffs.

9. Does Dish still carry TBS? For how long? ;)

10. If the Twins make it to the World Series, they'll be playing outdoor baseball in November in Minnesota. Wow.

One good pitching performance or one big hit can put you squarely in the driver's seat. Agreed, five game series are always scary for the favored team/team with HFA

2. The Twins have to beat the Yankees SOMETIME...don't they? I mean, the level of domination since 2002 against a very good team is almost unheard of. The Yankees are 54-18 against the Twins since then...crazy. The law of averages says the Twinkies are due.Sort of like Angels/Red Sox AND Yankees/Angels last year

3. The question is, will the Yankees get enough pitching to support their hitting? Sabathia and Hughes are certainly capable, and God knows how many BIG games Andy Pettitte has pitched in!

The Reds are my adopted team this postseason. However, I have my doubts if they have enough to get by the Phils (who I think are the most complete team in the postseason).

5. Cliff Lee is going to be a nice #2 starter next year. ;)
Shud-up!;):)

6. Post season baseball in San Francisco...gotta love it. They BEAT LA!!!
The Giants are the team that I question if they have enough hitting

7. When that series returns to Atlanta, will anyone be there to watch?

LOL!!!

8. Not the same without the Red Sox in the playoffs.

:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

That would be cool (no pun intended)! :up
