MLB 2013 Season

I've never seen a curtain call for a defensive play.

Man. The Astros swept the Angels in a 4 game series. Seriously, a four game series sweep.

The Angels are 3-7 against the Astros.

Wow! Puig made a statement with that last out to end the game. Threw a guy out at first from the right field wall on the fly. A perfect strike to 1st base.

Would have been more of a "statement" if he threw him out at home. Most outfielders can make that throw to first base on the fly.

Wouldn't have been that close had he a) taken a better route to the ball and b) got behind the ball and pointed in the right direction for the throw.
Which makes it even more impressive that he was able to throw it that far, that quick, and that accurate.

Does anyone remember the throw to first that Dwight Evans made after he caught Joe Morgan's flyball in the World Series? I've never missed a base by that much in my life.

Its not the throw that was impresive, its the moment of the game. Debut in the Bigs, makes a good tough catch and throw to double up the runner to end the game.

Exactly.

It ended the game and it was from the guy they were hyping as he was making his debut

No outfielder can throw a ball on the fly from the outfield wall to home, and most outfielder cannot throw a strike to first on the fly and somewhat off balance.

If this happened in the fifth inning by an everyday outfielder, if would have been just another highlight play.

The Red Sox are seriously fattening up their batting averages tonight: 15 for 31 in the sixth, with runs scored in every inning.

And now he hits a 2 run HR to give them the lead.

Tonight so far 1 double and 2 HRs with 5 RBI

None? That is a broad generalization.
