MLB 2013 Season

After tonight's Dodgers-Red game, there's exactly three weeks left in the regular season. The five playoff teams in the NL have been determined for what seems like forever!

Barring major collapses, the Braves will win the East and the Dodgers will win the West. Three teams from the Central will make the playoffs, the only question is which two will have to play a one game playoff three weeks from Tuesday. The American League is much more complicated....it looks like the Red Sox will win the East and the Tigers will win the Central. It looks like the A's and Rangers will go down to the wire to determine the West winner, with the runner-up the frontrunner for the first Wild Card, and the second Wild Card coming from the Rays/Orioles/Indians/Yankees/Royals logjam.

Well put ... :)

Actually this bad weekend may just strengthen the Dodgers. They will have seen how bad they can be away from the NL West and can now prepare for what is to come with this bad taste in their mouth. Maybe....

46-10 is a nice trick, but if the Dodgers lose today, they will be 7-7 in their most recent 14. As Earl Weaver often said, you're never as good as you look like you are when you're winning, and you're never as bad as you look like you are when you're losing. A month ago people were wondering if the Tampa Bay Rays were going to break the Harlem Globetrotters win streak record.

Very true! Streaks be they winning or losing are a strange thing into themselves.

All three games will most likely be decided by one run with 2 going extra innings. This series could have gone to any team. Every game has been decided by one batter and one swing.

Game 1 Voto
Game 2 Izturis
Game 3 Bruce

The last two were won by someone else. But it was Bruce's 2 HRs and Izturis's 3 hits that made the difference.

We are seeing the beginning of the greatest collapse in history after one of the biggest comebacks in history.

The one team I would not mind seeing representing the NL in the WS if the Dodgers do not go would be the Pirates. The one team I definitely do not want to see would be Braves. No matter who the Braves play in the first round, I want that team to knock them out.

?That isn't very nice.

Oh Lord! How are we ever gonna make it thru the playoffs with you? Will the Dodgers win the World Series? Will they even get to the World Series? No one knows. But with three weeks left in the season I highly doubt that a team with an 11 game lead in their division will crumble so badly as to not make the playoffs. The Dodgers had a great winning streak. If you (or anyone) believed it was gonna last forever you were badly fooling yourself. Lotsa time left. As I said earlier, this may be the best thing that happened to the Dodgers. Now they know how tough it's gonna be outside the division in October. It is totally in their hands (barring any injuries). Take a pill!!!!;)
