MLB 2012 Postseason

And IF the Cardinals make it to the WS dont forget thr more recent memories of Granderson, Polanco, Verlander, Eckstein, Molina and Wainwright.

For the Tigers, Verlander was a mere rookie and everyone else is gone with the exception of Infante who recently returned before the trading deadline. The Tigers are a completely different team, and JV has developed into arguably the best pitcher in baseball. Surprisingly, I remember quite a bit about the 1968 series even though I was only 5 years old...and far less about the 2006 series. Amazing how one flushes away the bad memories. :p

Anyway, I'm looking forward to a great series. :)

From MLB.com

Game 1 Detroit @ NL Champion Wed, Oct 24 TBD FOX
Game 2 Detroit @ NL Champion Thu, Oct 25 TBD FOX
Game 3 NL Champion @ Detroit Sat, Oct 27 TBD FOX
Game 4 NL Champion @ Detroit Sun, Oct 28 TBD FOX
Game 5* NL Champion @ Detroit Mon, Oct 29 TBD FOX
Game 6* Detroit @ NL Champion Wed, Oct 31 TBD FOX
Game 7* Detroit @ NL Champion Thu, Nov 1 TBD FOX

Any possibility of of the schedule being moved pushed ahead should St. Louis win this evening? There's just something very, very wrong about baseball in November...call it snow.

I am with you on that. Thats the reason for my first post!

Friday's Playoff Schedule

Giants (Zito) at Cardinals (Lynn)- NLCS...Cardinals lead series 3-1- 8:00pm ET (FOX)

I hope SFO makes a series out of this and wins tonight.
I don't. The deeper they go into the series, the more the momentum switches towards the Giants.

Plus it is better to see a team clinch at home. I would much rather have the Cards clinch at home than on the road. And of course, I would much rather have the Cards clinch on the road than the Giants clinch at home.

I've been hoping San Fran wins ... why, because I like ATT Park, it's kinda cool from what I've seen ...

However, a St. Louis win tonight particularly, will give both teams comparable time off and it will give the Tigers the chance to return the favor to the Cards from '06 ...

Yes, I know both teams are extremely different now.

I was going to say I don't want to deal with those late West Coast starting time, but they all start at 8PM ET, right?

With the Giants win tonight, I would now have to say they are the favorites to move on now, even though they are down 3-2

As big of a Giants fan as I am, I'm not all that certain. It'll all depend on whether the Giants can get the timely hitting that they failed to get in game three of this series. Without an improvement there, it'll be tough tough sledding. The Cards have a very good lineup and asking for perfection or near perfection from your pitchers is a recipe for disaster.

It woul be hard for any team to come back to down 3-1. Teams up 3-1 win 81% of the series :)

Now they are only down 3-2. Playing at home I would say they have a good chance of winning 2 games.

I baseball game in November is so incredibly ridiculous to me. The idea of another team for the wild card is great...but baseball in November is just plain stupid. Nothing against the team nor their fans...but almost hope there is snow in Detroit and delays it into almost thanksgiving.

Always nice to see the GOOD things NFL players do
