MLB 2012 Postseason

Delmon! I know everyone wants him gone next year but he has killed it in the postseason the last 2 seasons. There is something to be said for that.

That's an understatement. He is an under-performer during the 1st half, catches fire in spurts during the 2nd half, and becomes an alsolute beast during the playoffs. Sure, he had some fielding, base running and strikeout liabilities but, to be honest, whether you win the division by 1 game or 20 games, you cannot overlook the fact he mophes into The Walking Delmon every October...because he's walking around the bases like a zombie after hitting 'em into the cheap seats. :)

IF he could play the field or hit during the year AT ALL, he'd be a fixture.

He is a good DH but with V-Mart coming back there isn't much of a place for him. I would like him on the roster next year even if he doesn't play everyday.

Plus he could be some nice insurance in case Martinez doesn't come back well from the injury.

Delmon hits...just that he gets most of 'em during spurts in the 2nd half of the year. Didn't he hit .270 this past two years? The other part is strikes-out and grounds into a lot of double-plays during his droughts. To be honest, I think he would benefit from playing 15-20 lbs. lighter.

Thats the only time he's walking ... Only had 20 walks the WHOLE YEAR, almost 600 ab's

He's NOT a good DH though.

Played very poorly this year in the DH spot.

That was a MAJOR hole we had in the line up this year, someone to hit in the 5 spot, he was there, but did poorly.

That's the problem. I wonder if we could use him in a Gates Brown role during the regular season and move him into the starting lineup come October?

I doubt he's settle for a PH role.

I'm gonna love seeing Prince NEXT year with a .300+ hitter hitting behind him. VMART

Fwiw, Derwood hit .267 this season and .276 in the post season so far with 0 walks and 7 rbi and 7 K's

Who know if Martinez will be the same guy after missing a full season though? I don't think he is a bad DH. There are better out there but we could do a whole lot worse.

In other news Verlander is still mowing them down.

VMart is a .300+ hitter and a .350+ with RISP, one year off isn't gonna make him forget how to hit.

He probably won't Catch anymore, possibly get some time at 1b though.

Always nice to see the GOOD things NFL players do
