Marlins trying to buy that Championship with people that are past their prime (Burhle) and Injury prone guys (Reyes) Good Luck.

I did say so. The Yankees Playbook doesn't work. Baseball in Miami doesn't work. Good luck to them though. This is all PR to get butts in the seats.

NOW...according to ESPNs Buster Olney, the offer from the Cards is STILL only 9 years and LESS money AND years than the Marlins offer...and they supposedly STILL in the Pujols sweepstakes. This was also(the Marlins in the sweepstakes) confirmed by Marlins President David Sampson on 790 the Ticket 30 minutes ago.

I think the Cubs just did that because I honestly think the Cards intent was to not go above 9 years and $ 195 million...now the supposed pricetag is 10 years and over $220 million.

Salsa, what happened to that tall kid, Volstad? I always thought he had the potential to be a good starter.

He has been very inconsistent and I think they are tired of waiting. I honestly blame them to say the least. He has great stuff, but just cannot seem to harness it.

Well the pirates signed McClouth and Bedard. Another year of the pirates signing people that is past their prime.

Dotel has always a very good setup man.

That's good news, they want him to fill the 7th inning slot that others since Zumaya have pretty much failed in.

IT would lokm like this:
Dotel 7th
Benoit 8th
Valverde. 9th
