That may be true of some of the collegiate sports, but I have a hard time believing that the Yanks or Red Sox for example would purposely make tickets available for the opposition fans...

They can't sell to a yankee fan over a Sox fan, how would they determine that ?

This happens with EVERY Pro team in all leagues.
It benefits the Home teams anyways, as the left over tickets get sold.

Possibly ....

You do know that the opposition always returns any tickets that they don't use shortly before game time and those also become available, but those won't ADD to the count as they are already accounted for, but a potential for you to get a seat.

I'm not saying individual opposition fans can't buy tickets, of course they can.

Your first statement is not surprisingly incorrect. Where are these seats at Yankee Stadium that you claim are reserved for Red Sox fans?? How many tickets are reserved for Red Sox fans?? Are the same amount of seats reserved for Orioles fans?? Think about it....

Really.... your Really gonna go there ?

To answer your LAST question first :
Are the same amount of seats reserved for Orioles fans??

YES

These tickets become available for any fans that may know about them.... and how to get them.

The opposition has a number of seats available for friends and family for EVERY game, every sport.

What is NOT sold, are returned to the home team and are then sold to the public, home or away fans.

Why do you say :
Your first statement is not surprisingly incorrect.

Not surprisingly incorrect ?
When you do not have proof of what I said, your gonna try to start Sh*t about something that I happen to know and you apparently don't ....

So basically saying I lie about this ?

It's amazing when you can make a statement about something that you KNOW to be try and others come to BITCH that your NOT correct.

It's getting REAL Annoying. over ....

Saw this stat today......

CC Sabathia is 0-4/7.20 vs. the Red Sox this season.......Against the rest of MLB he's 16-2/2.11.......that's a jaw dropping stat!!!

Sabathia currently leads the league with 16 wins. If that continues, it will be the first time since 1973 that the leader in wins lost at least four games to the same team (Wilbur Wood was 0-5 vs. the Athletics).

Actually he's tied for the league lead.
Verlander has 16:)

Also, so far Sabathia is 0-1 against the Tigers and did not get a win or a loss on opening day.

IMO, if the vote was taken today, Verlander should be the CYA winner.

Beckett is showing a live arm tonight, but I'd feel better if he'd find the lower half of the strike zone a little more often...

If Beckett gets through this inning (2 out, sixth) it is time for a shower, even though his pitch count is moderate.. He is still wild

I'm not saying you're lying, just misinformed.

OK, I'm a Red Sox fan and I'm interested in buying tickets for the next series at Yankee Stadium. How do I get access to these seats being held for Red Sox fans?? Please give me all the details so I can get them before they're returned back to the home team.... :o

I know they put tickets aside for family of visiting players, but not for fans. Those tickets that are unused go back in to the pool of tickets that can be bought by anyone. I know for a fact that this is how both the Red Sox and Patriots do it.

Tee-Hee-Hee!

I was scouring the recent box scores to see who would have to pitch after Bard. I figured Bard could go one more inning, if necesssary, but then Aceves has been used three days in a row, leaving Williams 6+ ERA or Miller on what could have been called his "throwing" day

Fourteen of Rivera's seventy-two career blown saves are against the Red Sox.

You are correct, a few hours before the game, they are made available.

You can't get them BEFORE they are released to everyone, but they are available to you as much as the next guy...

I couldn't make it to the end of the Sox-NYY game last night. Did they say why they think the Yankees didn't bring Rivera back out for the 10th inning?? He only threw 9 pitches in the ninth, and the Yanks are off today....

I just eyeballed Rivera's game log this year, and in none of his four previous blown, 3-out saves did he pitch then next inning even though in one of them, against Baltimore, he only threw nine pitches. Only once this year did he pitch a second inning after having held for a full inning. In that game, he threw twelve pitches in his first inning and nine more in his second and final inning.

Bobby Valentine recounted the time that the agent for his closer said he didn't want Valentine using his client for any more than one inning a game. Valentine said, OK, but he'd be the one deciding which inning. Since using him as a set-up man would diminish that pitcher's value in future contract nengotiations, that was the last time that Valentine and that agent ever discussed the matter.

Bobby Valentine has the most obvious eyebrow lift since Rudi Giuliani.

It was the longest low scoring game I have ever seen...my God, almost 4 1/2 for a 2-1 game??!! It was awful. And when did they do SOOO much talking in a game?! It was excruciating. You could not soak in the sounds or the real feeling of the game because Orel and Bobby could not keep their mouth shut for 2 seconds. WAY too much over analyzing a game by 2 team that have played each other a million times.

Honestly Beckett shares a lot of the blame for this. 30 seconds in between pitches is ridiculous, and than add that to guys like Jeter and Cano who constantly step out of the box. But, it has been like this for 7-8 years with these 2 teams, so you kind of get used to it.

MLB did the Red Sox no favors by scheduling this game on a Sunday Night, when they start a road trip the next day.

It was awful! I expect this from 10-9 games but a 2-1? I saw a graph when I was seeing highlights(either on the MLB network or ESPN, cannot remember) where the average 2-1, 3-2 game went just a little over 2 hours. As much as I love baseball more than any sport, I HATE to watch it.
