MLB 2010 Season

at least you can follow Vin's, unlike Harry's stories :)

Are you kidding, the best part of Harry doing games cast was passing by the announcer's booth area and seeing the pyramid of shot/on the rocks glasses by the 7th inning! LOL!

You should have seen the issues he used to have with a portly catcher they had in the 90s named Hector Villanueva...

It's ALWAYS a treat to hear Vin Scully call a game :up, but I find myself distracted by the Padres- Ray Kroc Era uniforms!

I find myself looking for Dave Winfield and Gary Templeton out there! :p

I guess I am fashion challenged but I kind of like those old uni's of the Padres. I think its neat that they wear those every so often.

Besides being able to watch the Reds every night, listening Vin Scully on occasions was a big reason I got MLBEI. He's a great story teller with a wealth of knowledge.

Always good to take a series from the hated Dodgers! Even better in the throwback uni's. The Dodgers were the ones who called the Padres "Bums in dirty uniforms" back in the early days of the team.

That means they must be showing the KCAL9 feed? I cannot watch it on MLBNet because it is blacked out in my area. I am watching it on KCAL9. If it is the same feed, why do they need to black it out?

Possibly because they have different commercials, and KCAL wants you watching their commercials. ;)

You'll find Dave Winfield wearing that uniform in the Hall of Fame. :)

I'm not sure as I don't have MLB EI, but are the commercials NOT the ones for that particular city that your watching ?

Since you can't watch both, I'm not really sure. But when NBA LP or NHL CI shows over the air games, DirecTV usually inserts DirecTV commercials over the ones being showed on those channels. They used to keep the feed from the arena on...occasionally they still do, and you can hear the announcers talking during commercial breaks, setting up replays for when they're out of commercial, etc.

During Dallas Stars games the cameramen used to zero in on buxom women in the stands during the commercials...it was comical.

I use to love my old C-Band ! :p

Well if the Pirates keep it up they should get the #1 pick. :(
For all the good it will do 'em. :( Could be worse though...could be a Cubs fan right now. Last week's arse kickin' in Colorado of 17- 2 followed by last night's arse kickin' of 18-1 at the hands of their rival neighbors just to the north, the Brew Crew. The wheels have really come off in Chicago in a short 2 years.

MLB EI it is the normal commercials that everyone in the local market sees. In most cases EI on D* just remaps the RSN feed.

When the EI freeview was on it was hilarious to see some of the commercials...there were some that I saw on 4SD that were very humorous :)
A real funny one is on the Blue Jays broadcast for a hot dog company. They end it with "we make wieners. We're not Noah's Arc" :D

NBA LP & NHL CI sometimes take the raw feed and then D* has to insert their own commercials
