I would take anyone over Torre. Heck, the Dodgers may do better being managed by someone who knows nothing about the game.I would take Torre over Dusty TWICE every day and three times on Sunday!

I did not mean to imply that you are anyone specific will bash an individual personally. It was more of a general comment stating that I have no problem with people bashing my team or my sport, or even my posts, just don't bash me (or anyone else) on a personal level.
Reminds me of my childhood, although I was never drafted to play anything.
I used to go around in 3rd grade naming the entire Dodgers starting lineup with their awesome infield of Cey, Russell, Lopes, and Garvey. IMO, during the 70s, the Dodgers had a bigger rivalry with the Reds than their long time rivals, the Giants
I beg to differ my friend! The TRUE arm killer is the one residing in Cincinnati... Dusty "I have destroyed more arms than anyone" Baker. Shall I read the IMMEDATE list?
Mark Pryor
Kerry Wood
Edison Volquez
Johnny Cueto
And those are the recent guys I know off my head, I am sure there are PLENTY when he managed the Giants. Right now, outside of the Marlins, the Reds have one best young impressive pitching staffs in the Majors. BUT, I am afraid with Dusty's track record, who knows WHAT will happen to these pitchers.
Sorry but I don't agree. He had nothing to do with Volquez and Cueto isn't hurt, where did that come from?
Cueto has never been hurt. He's having a great season at 10-2 so far. I agree he had nothiong to do with Volquez. So far this season I think Dusty has handled the pitching staff as well as any manager could. He's not let any of his young pitchers have an excessive pitch count. I don't what happened when he was with the Cubs since I don't follow the Cubs that closely but as the Reds manager he's been just fine. Not great but better than most.
The Cubs and Giant's were both over used when he was there.
I hope he continues to handle the Reds correctly as it would be nice to see them win thier division, it's been a while.
Hey Reds fans, when did Marty and Joe get broke up, I know it's been awhile now and that Joe has retired (I think) and Marty continues, I always liked listening to them on WLW in my younger years.
Joe died in November of '07, just after he had a much diminished season behind the mike due to health problems!!!...
There have been big promotion campaigns the last three years to get him in the broadcasters division of the HOF, but unfortunately, he is more of a local celeberty than national!!!...

Yes and the young pitchers like Mike Leake have been put on an innings count for the year and will be shut down when he hits that, which looks like around the end of August for him.
They are skipping Leake's turn in the rotation. Which would be tomorrow if they were playing. They have done that a couple of times to keep his innings within the season innings count. It will be interesting to see what they do with him in September if the Reds are still in it and he's at his limit. Harang and Bailey should be back by then and they may just plug one of those two in Leake's spot.

I might have had him confussed with someone else on the staff. And how can an elbo injury not be associated due to over use unless he was hit there?
The blame is sporadic, BUT with Baker's HISTORY of doing this....as someone has said here..."where there is smoke....."

Why is it the Reds are NOT in HD on the RSN ?
They played this afternoon.
Oh, I know that, but are the games normally in HD on the RSN ?
That brings up another question ....
Why would the game time feed be HD but the REPLAY not ?
